THIS THREAD IS CLOSED, PLEASE GO TO THE NEW THREAD (part 2) NOW This is an ongoing thread containing the latest releases, beta's and release candidates for the transmission bittorrent client. New releases will be posted here (in the first post) These builds include:
Thanks go out to The transmission software developers for creating this torrent client. Journey for creating the initial gaya interface Shurup for his excellent work on the enhanced gaya interface Please note I did not develop or contribute to the development of Transmission. I just create the NMT 'versions' of transmission for the NMT community.[/b] Because of this: please report any bugs found here: http://trac.transmissionbt.com/report Installation instructions Using CSI Use the Community Software Installer to install Transmission Download the CSI. How to open transmission Gaya interface A webservice link will be automatically added on your NMT's webservices menu, called Transmission. Remote web interface You can access the transmission a webbrowser via: Code: http://your_popcorn:9091/transmission/web/FAQ read before posting Q: Error message "request cannot be processed" during setup A: Stop Torrent in setup, restart NMT, unzip and upload again and retry. Also unzipping with another unzip program (like winrar) seems to solve this problem. Try the Community Software Installer. Q: My download / upload speeds are slow or non existing A: Make sure you have setup portforwarding correctly, check site http://portforward.com/ check if port is forwarded correctly here: http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=51413 if it isn't forwarded correctly or still no download speeds please start a new topic and don't post it here because it is a network problem and not relevant to this topic. Q: The NMT crashes after a while!! A: For some; due to extra cpu load and heat your NMT may crash. Please try to install a fan. Try limiting the download speed or maximum number of connection. Q: Version X had better speeds then Y A: Please continue using version X, this thread will follow the most recent version of transmission. No repost of old versions. Q: I changed settings in settings.json but the settings are lost A: Make sure you have disabled transmission first, wait for a long period of time and then make the changes. Use the stop button in CSI to stop Transmission. Transmission saves it's current settings on close. Q: I found a bug in transmission itself! A: Please report that to the transmission developers here: http://trac.transmissionbt.com/report they hopefully will pick the bug up and fix it for us! Q: Does transmission have feature X A: Please refer to the transmission wiki http://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki a lot of answers there! Q: How do I configure transmission to enable/disable feature X A: Please refer to transmission wiki http://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki Q: I want to automatically unrar the downloaded content / unpak.sh A: The current releases of transmission made here don't support auto unpacking. More information here: http://trac.transmissionbt.com/ticket/1796 Q: I want to uninstall A: Use the CSI to uninstall, the previous transmission will reappear. Q: How do I enable ratio limit A: Edit settings.json in the ".transmission" folder. Please make sure you have stopped transmission before editing the file and wait a couple of MINUTES before editing the file. Add the following lines to enable ratio limit to 2.0 Code: "ratio-limit": "2.000000", Changelog New in 1.76 What's new: http://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/Changes Closed tickets: http://trac.transmissionbt.com/query?milestone=1.76&group=component&groupdesc=1&order=severity New in 1.75 What's new: http://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/Changes Closed tickets: http://trac.transmissionbt.com/query?milestone=1.75&group=component&groupdesc=1&order=severity New in 1.74 What's new: http://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/Changes Closed tickets: http://trac.transmissionbt.com/query?milestone=1.74&group=component&groupdesc=1&order=severity Code: Version 1.60 (r8349)RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 beta1 for nmt - Ivan - 11-08-2008 03:22 PM Can you explain what this is about? Is it a torrent client? I have no clue. EDIT: nevermind found out Transmission is a cross-platform BitTorrent client RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 beta1 for nmt - Ger Teunis - 11-08-2008 03:32 PM (11-08-2008 03:22 PM)Ivan Wrote: Can you explain what this is about? The NMT you received is shipped by default with two torrent clients. One is the standard BTPD and one called Transmission. BTPD does have an User Interface on the popcorn self as well as a webui (access your torrents using your webbrowser on your computer). The default transmission on the NMT is somewhat older (version 1.22) with an good webui and no screen on the popcorn itself. Me, and some others, have tried to create an user inteface on the popcorn itself and update the transmission client to a new version. Currently version 1.4 is going to be released soon. The above package contains the latest version of transmission with the webui and, currently, a non functiontioning nmt screen. RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 beta1 for nmt - DjAndy - 11-08-2008 05:23 PM This one works great, much better than the original one.... ![]() But this looks like it's version 1.34b, or something like that.... Please release 1.4 fast, because this 1.34 client is not allowed on some trackers. Br, Andrej EDIT: Found first Bug....When you change default incoming port and turn PopCorn Off, when you turn it back on the port is changed to default. This IS going to be 1.40, the version number still states 1.34+, the developers of transmission will bump up the version number whenever they feel like. This is a so called TRUNK build, it contains the latest code and all code changes up to today, it's even 'newer' than the mac osx beta 1.40. When the final of 1.40 is going to be released I'll update it again of course. BUG: does the bug still show when you change port, save it, stop torrent in setup -> NMT app and then reboot? RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 beta1 for nmt - vaivel - 11-08-2008 08:42 PM Downloaded, installed and up and running. Very much abliged. The install script ins't really pepared for an 1.33 upgraid, it tries to close down the original 1.22 client, and got stock on me because Now I just have to wait on some of my favorit shows to come up so I can see if it needs less reboots to keep a stable download. Obervations so far: When I change upload speed in Preferences to 35 save and open again it is presented as 0.0341796875 Clutch in 1.22 had space left on unit visible, neiter 1.33 nor 1.40 do RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 beta1 for nmt - Thor - 11-08-2008 09:06 PM Thank you Ger Teunis Works like a treat

Yes, the bug still shows even if I do that. Alright, I think it is a tranmission webui bug itself. I'll look into it, if it is we will have to wait for the transmission developers to fix it. I just have done some work to get it working on the NMT, no real functional changes what so ever ;-) RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 beta1 for nmt - giannisgr41 - 11-09-2008 09:52 AM is it faster on download than 1.33?if i update to 1,40,do i keep my running torrent?if i and dont like, can i install 1.33 again and continue my torrents again?thanks RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 beta1 for nmt - DjAndy - 11-09-2008 10:06 AM (11-09-2008 09:52 AM)giannisgr41 Wrote: is it faster on download than 1.33?if i update to 1,40,do i keep my running torrent?if i and dont like, can i install 1.33 again and continue my torrents again?thanks WebUI works faster for me...And yes, torrents remain if you update it... RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 beta1 for nmt - papka__ - 11-09-2008 10:38 AM First resume: 1. WebUI - seems faster than 1.33 2. Checking is really faster then 1.33 3. Download/upload speed - seems faster, but still too slow. I think 1.4 final does not resolve speed problem. It's no good. Anyway BIG THANKS to Ger Teunis. Waiting for final from developers and then from Ger Teunis. RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 beta1 for nmt - vaivel - 11-09-2008 11:50 AM (11-08-2008 08:42 PM)vaivel Wrote: When I change upload speed in Preferences to 35 save and open again it is presented as 0.0341796875That ended up being a problem with Chrome, when I cleared the cache it worked as expected. Really odd. Chrome isn't the favorit amongst the Transmission team, I like it though since I can't use IE, and it is growing on me. My biggest problem with 1.33 has been, that when downloading my daily shows (using torrent-watch) with 5 digit number of peers, it seems to get 'overwhelmed' and hardly downloads anything, a reboot usually helps. But I haven't downloaded anything yet, and don't think I will get anything untill tomorrow, so I can't say if that part has been fixed or not. I agree the webGUI seems more responsive, but so did the old one right after a reboot. All in all, the next week will reveal to me, if this really is a significant release.
