Installation was fine, after that i started "Torrent" in my NMT app. Also web interface (http://192.168.11.30:9091/transmission/web/) works, BUT when i add torrent of any torrent tracker it doesnt start downloading. theres no error written only 0kb/s down 0kb/s up. then i went to web services and gaya, started it but same problem. it tells that theres 50 peers but availability si 0.0% and the "speeds" are the same as i mentioned. theres nothing wrong with my internet connection, so why that troubles? confused

It works fine for me now. Have you verified the port forwarding on your router? You have to open the right port. By default, it is the 51413.

RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 FINAL - miso03 - 11-26-2008 10:46 PM

yes, port is forwarded correctly. even if not, it should work as an unconnectable.
//both torrents shows right number of seeders [as shown at torrent tracker web page]

//download finally worked on torrent from ThePirateBay .. seems like this client is banned on other trackers Sad

I don't know if I have this version. My version has been downloaded from this topic (first page). Could you send me by PM the test version or send me a link.

Thanks papka__

Here is the test version. WITHOUT installation. You mast overwrite original files from 1.40 with telnet. One else variant: you can overwrite files in original 1.4 installation from the first page and then reinstall transmission 1.4 from it.

I will try to install the test version.

I have an issue on PCH...when I try to load more than 10 torrents, I am not able to launch TorrentWatch WEBUI and Transmission WEBUI and PCH crash.
Do you have an idea ? It is a identified issue ?

It is not a known issue, anyone else able to reproduce?

I'll update the original setups soon with a newer version than this zip I gave out, there are a lot of other patches being added to the sources which we also could use on the popcorn.

I am even trying to find other linux-daemon-bases torrent application which we can test. Anyone any tips?

As I understand you use nighties from transmissionbt. I have one suggestion - when you create nighties based installation, please add nighties date to zip file name. It's only to control what kind of fixes we already have. Thanks.

Nothing change. With the test version I have exaclty the same issue. 17 torrents in same time ===> 2 min and CRRRASHHH !!!

RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 FINAL - Putchuco - 11-28-2008 03:34 PM

First off: Ger Teunis, thx much for putting this together!

Are we now at a point where we can safely install and operate this?
No pressure or impatience, just asking.

I'm already impressed with transmission 1.22 and torrentwatch,
but the slow interaction with Clutch and the constant connection problem msgs in Clutch
mixed with the refresh in torrentwatch after every command slowly get on my nerves.
So if Transmission 1.4 works with torrentwatch and elimantes these issues, you'd make me very happy. Big Grin

RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 FINAL - fyl - 11-28-2008 04:12 PM

Hi,

Can someone explain how the Transmission verification works ? I have downloaded a torrent 1.26GB but only 162MB is verified. When does Transmission perform the verification ? I know it does it once when I add a RE-add a torrent that was previously downloaded partially.

Anyway to tweak it ?

Cheers

Should I give up and reinstall NMT apps? (Does it format the hard disk?)

Olax,
Your problem must be that you have llink installed in the HDD and this creates a conflict. I unisntalled llink and now everything works fine. The only reason I'm using this version of transmission is that the 1.22 is not compatible with Transmission Remote link that let me choose individual files from multifile torrents.

Hello everybody!
Can i use this version of Transmission on my HDX1000 the same way?
Thanx!

RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.40 FINAL - Squeek - 11-29-2008 01:00 AM

just scanning through recent posts so apologies if this is answered elsewhere. My transmission stopped working when I installed llink, which someone mentioned. Didn't look into it much but as far as I can tell, the clutch script (the one called when the installer or startup scripts call 'clutch start') has to pass in the local ip of the device as one of the transmission startup parameters. It looks as though it does this by running ifconfig and parsing it out of the response.
Llink on the other hand, tries to add itself to your 'sources' menu by configuring your machine with another 'dummy' ip address for it to 'broadcast' on. My guess would be that the extra info now returned by ifconfig for the dummy IP, in addition to the real one, causes the clutch script to fail its parsing - the request to startup transmission is malformed, so it never starts. If you manually try to run clutch start from telnet it simply brings up the help dialog with allowable command line parameters.

I don't have a solution other than uninstalling llink, but if someone more knowledgeable than I can confirm this is the problem, I daresay it wouldn't be hard to modify the clutch script to work properly with llink.

(11-28-2008 04:12 PM)fyl Wrote:  Can someone explain how the Transmission verification works ?

Torrents is split up in chunks of a certain size, the larger the torrent the larger the chunks, each chunks has a checksum so it can be verified. The actual transfer takes place in bites smaller than chunks, so a chunk can't be verified until you have recived all its bites. The torrent client can be working on severeal chunks at the same time, hench the sometimes huge difference in revieved and verified.

When you re-add a torrent, the torrent client will verifiy the whole file, but will check it chunk by chunk, and the chunks that don't add up will be marked as missing. With a mini CPU and low speed disk access, rechecking a torrent takes quite some time.

(Forgive me for not using prober trorrent terms).

It should work on all NMTs.

@Ger Teunis: I have now been running your 'testme' build for a week, and i owe to tell you that it hasn't fixed the problem i'm having, but it may have softened it. It still goes on a halt (no ul/dl) when I have an active torrent with 15000+ peers, but maybe not at fast as before. I have noticed that as soon as I pause the 'offending' torrent it starts ul/dl again, but it takes a stop/start of Transmission to get the torrent running again, at least for a while. Im beginning to wonder if this has something to do with the platform we are running it on, limited CPU such. But all in all, I am still running 1.40(+) after a week.

There has been a bit confusion about TorrentWatchs stop-at-ratio feature works, and I noticed today that it does Big Grin

I'm looking forward to your next release (still haven't had the time to start on the the whole toolchain/cross-compile thing, but hay hollidays are comming up soon ...)
