Ger,

Maybe it's better you edit your first post adding the use of CSI as a solution to solve the "request can not be processed" issue.
So many identical problems with identical solution recently Wink

Yeah I noticed as well Smile
I'll have to add a FAQ section and an link to the CSI installer.

Anyone with the Gui problem?
Transmission is running and functional on the PCH!
But I can't access the GUI, i.e., I can't upload the .torrent file to transmission downlaod it.

Please, anyone help me confused

It has to be an connection problem between your browser and transmission. Transmissio GUI (also available on these forums) doesn't work either I guess?

Please disable any firewalls temporary. If you are using a proxy server it might help to disable the proxy in the browser to test if the proxy server prevents internal network communitation.

My browser can access PCH... http://192.168.1.4:8088/ it's working just fine! I really don't know what happened here.. after I install transmission I tested and it was all OK... one day later it was not working anymore and I did not install anything else on the PCH. That port *9091* is not responding to connections... I already try to change the port modifying settings.json file.. but it doesn't work also.

What can I do? Reinstall all NTM Applications? I can't lose my files in internal HD, almost 800gb. If I reinstall the applications, Transission will disapear and I can install again?

PS: I tested in .exe Transmission GUI right now.. and the connection was refused!

Thank you for CSI a lot! Transmission has been installed finally and is working now. There are several questions:
1. What is the recomended number of transferes for this client? I mean both the efficiency issue and stability one.
2. Does this number depend on somth: type(verifying, dl/ul), total dl/ul speed, ets?
3. What are the reasons the verifying of local data process speed depends on?
4. Is there any expierience of work of Transmission with 100Gb size torrent transferes?
5. Is it common issue that playing of 1080p slowes down or even freezes if Transmission does a verifying local data?
Thanks!

Is everyone else happily getting on with 1.51 then? After a couple of quick tests I was happier, but now I've actually started using it regularly it's still not quite there for me. CPU usage seemed better (high when looking for peers, but acceptable the rest of the time), but still, adding 3 or 4 well-seeded public torrents via torrentwatch causes the WebUI to become unresponsive after a few hours (ie by the time I'm up and wanting to check them), so I'm at work now and can't get near the webUI, so I would assume that my cpu is pegged at home...
Also, speeds are just miserably slow. My connection is good for 800k/s from a private tracker(and I can acheive this in transmission), and I'd typically expect to get between 100 and 300k/s from a well-seeded public tracker - certainly this was acheivable with BTPD. In transmission 1.51 I'm getting very spikey speeds between 0 and 50k/s. Some earlier versions gave me slightly better speeds but none have been great, and 1.4x builds seemed to slow down after a while, which made having 10 or 12 private tracker torrents seeding a waste of time as they wouldn't upload (and yes, I've tried stopping or removing these seeding torrents when downloading the public stuff)
Can anyone give any suggestions for settings in 1.51 that might help? I've played around with the peer limits but it doesn't make much difference - even though there are tens of thousands of peers in the swarm, my torrent only connects to 10 or so typically.
If I can't get a workable setup for quickly downloading from large swarms, and reliably uploading to small ones over a long period, then I'm gonna have to rollback my firmware to get btpd back, and go back to my old approach of having a stable version of transmission handling my private tracker stuff (which it generally does ok) and btpd grabbing the public tracker stuff from torrentwatch (which it always did admirably)

I really don't like all the extra folders it makes in the root, why is this neccesary? Why not just one folder and subfolders?

Why does the installer corrupts when i want to install transmission? It install the files shown in the HDD, but then the installer stops and you can see "not responding"

How long did you wait? Sometimes it may take a long time to stop the currently running transmission client. If you have telnet you can manually try killing the transmission client
Code:
kill `pidof transmission-daemon`

Nowadays everybody is used to the speed and the computing power of the desktop/laptop machines.

But PCH is not a computer! And when besides the streaming of video/audio signal you load its tiny processor with a bunch of other tasks (ftp, samba, torrent, etc.) it inevitably will choke.

Lots of thing can influence this
1. The 300mhz low power MIPS cpu
2. Available memory
3. Load on HDD.
4. Load on CPU.
5. Available bus speed from Memory via PATA (or even PATA->Sata) to HDD.

I waited for half an hour.
But how do i use telnet? With cmd?

Just to increase Ger's stamina and morale, i'd like to tell you that i am happily using 1.51 with the new firmware version.

however, i am not using it for very large publicly tracked dl's (except maybe those that torrentwatch spits up). Just for movies or series that i am not in any hurry to watch. I'm using the PCH to download so my PC can stay off (saving power and noise)

1.51 has been very stable running for 2 days straight now without any problems. CPU is under control as well.

GUIs have been responsive (both remote and web).

Thanks

Yeah I needed that Smile

I do not get demoralized by people with bad experiences. Normally only people with a problem or a request reply to these kind of threads. Personally I am still very happy with the transmission client, especially this 1.51 release!

Ofcourse there will be always be people with 'crashes', 'bad speeds' or 'unable to connect' messages. I am going to add a FAQ to the topic start that will hopefully prevent the same questions over and over (no offense).

Except for the new transmission releases (keeping up with the current version of transmission) there hasn't been made any progress on the NMT specific stuff around the the transmission daemon (gaya interface) because I am way to busy with the Community Software Installer, which seems to surpass this application by sheer number of downloads and views.

Don't know what the future will bring, but for the time being I'll keep the package up to date and integrate some changes suggested by you (users of transmission for nmt) whenever I have some spare time.
