RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.72 + DHT download and discussion - brownrl - 07-17-2009 11:32 AM http://hlounge.net/iPhoneTransBookmarklet/ Hey peeps, After searching relentlessly and coming to this thread and few other places I sorta pieced together a few things to get the ball rolling again: The link above is a small app that I made to create the bookmarklet and PHP script needed to add a torrent using the iPhone. Previous postings about bookmarklets are not working on the newer transmission versions because the "RPC" now requires some fancy session id stuff to put into the headers. So I gave up and just made the bookmarklet hit a PHP file which inturns downloads the .torrent and adds it to Transmission. I will admit that for my situation I made this for an HDX 1000 Network Media Tank. For your situation there maybe some post editing/modding needed. If you have issues or want to add something to the link please message me. All Platforms - Fix bug where user-configured peer limits could be exceeded - Use less memory in some high-peer situations - Better estimation of time left to download - Support supportcrypto and requirecrypto flags in http tracker announces - Update to newer snapshots of libnatpmp and miniupnpc - Make DHT a compile-time option Daemon - Add umask support - Web Client - Inspector and Add Torrent buttons for iPhone/iPod Touch - Add location field to inspector CLI - Some torrent files created with transmission-cli were invalid RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.72 + DHT download and discussion - acsterf - 07-19-2009 01:28 AM I have a question: why when I add two .torrent files from different trackers, both with the same name, with same files (same movie), Transmission (1.72 and 1.73) won't load both trackers and download a single version of the movie, just like utorrent does? I'm trying to do it ant two separated files are being created. Any idea if I'm doing something wrong or if Transmission doesn't support multiple trackers in a file? Thanks! RE: [transmission] *** UPDATED *** Transmission 1.73 + DHT download and discussion - Jerome - 07-19-2009 05:48 PM I use transmission since the first week that i have my PCH A-110 (Dec.2008), and really think that is a good application. But today, when i upgrade to the latest version (1.73)...I lost all my ratios!! Please read this: http://networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=13161&pid=214538#pid214538 http://networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=13161&pid=214557#pid214557 http://networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=13161&pid=214566#pid214566 Apparently this is a transmission issue. Here are some suggestion: 1) That when you upgrade, do not miss the current downloads and their ratios. 2) That the ratio are obtained directly from the site, or how to implement access to this information, the site has, about each file (for example: a new column in the options of the Trans. Remote GUI, "TRACKER RATIO") Best regards Jerome RE: [transmission] *** UPDATED *** Transmission 1.73 + DHT download and discussion - Ger Teunis - 07-19-2009 06:30 PM (07-19-2009 05:48 PM)Jerome Wrote: Here are some suggestion: Great, but do not get confused. Real development on the transmission client is done at http://www.transmissionbt.com. So nobody will pick up any suggestions here. I can tell that point 2 is not an option, technically speaking. The underlaying torrent technology doesn't allow that. RE: [transmission] *** UPDATED *** Transmission 1.73 + DHT download and discussion - ayeah - 07-20-2009 12:17 PM Can the gaya interface support transmission authentication now? RE: [transmission] *** UPDATED *** Transmission 1.73 + DHT download and discussion - Mobyfan - 07-24-2009 08:55 AM Hi, I wonder if you can help. I have been upgrading recently from the version which comes with the A110 SW to 1.73 via CSI. All is fine apart from one thing: Previously downloaded files had the following permissions '-rw-rw-rw root root' and directories 'drwxrwxrwx root root'. Now it is '-rw-r--r-- root root' for files and 'drwxr-xr-x root root' for directories. I have no problems ith changing / deleting the files vie telnet from my Mac - however, I am no longer allowed to delete files via an SMB share in the Finder which is a bit inconvenient. Any ideas how I could make 1.73 behave as the earlier version. I have searched the forum and tried playing with some config files but no success so far. Any help would be highly appreciated - Many Thanks! RE: [transmission] *** UPDATED *** Transmission 1.73 + DHT download and discussion - M4rtijn - 07-24-2009 05:06 PM To solve the directory permission issue: In /share/Apps/Transmission/.transmission/settings.json there is a new parameter "umask". This parameter is set by default to the decimal value of 18, which is 022 in octal. Stop Transmission, then change this value to 0 and restart Transmission. All newly started torrents will now have full permissions: drwxrwxrwx RE: [transmission] *** UPDATED *** Transmission 1.73 + DHT download and discussion - Mobyfan - 07-24-2009 06:29 PM (07-24-2009 05:06 PM)M4rtijn Wrote: To solve the directory permission issue: Thanks M4rtijn, I had already played with this parameter before as it looked like the right button to push. However, for some reason I got the impression that Transmission would override it with the default value on startup - maybe I was just to stupid to properly save the edited file. Now it worked perfectly!!! RE: [transmission] *** UPDATED *** Transmission 1.73 + DHT download and discussion - Jerome - 07-25-2009 05:03 PM 1) Using the previous version (1.51-2), all the folder created have this permission: >>[Filezilla] Permissions: 777 // Owner/Group: 1001 1001 >>[Windows Explorer / Properties / Security] Groups: Everyone, nmt (Unix Group\nmt) // Users: NMT user (PCH-A110\nmt) 2) After install the latest version (1.73), now I have this: >>[Filezilla] Permissions: 755 // Owner/Group: 0 0 >>[Windows Explorer / Properties / Security] Groups: Everyone, root (Unix Group\root) // Users: root (Unix User\root) (Advanced: Full control only for "Everyone") 3) Once fixed the "umask=0" setting, now the new folders are like this: >>[Filezilla] Permissions: 777 // Owner/Group: 0 0 >>[Windows Explorer / Properties / Security] Groups: Everyone, root (Unix Group\root) // Users: root (Unix User\root) (Advanced: Full control to all) With 1) and 3) I can do everything (move folder and files, rename, etc), but with 2) and can't do nothing. I try to change the setting using windows explorer and filezilla (550 Can't _____: Permission denied), but it is impossible. Please anybody help me what am I doing wrong.... Best Regards Jerome RE: [transmission] *** UPDATED *** Transmission 1.73 + DHT download and discussion - Ger Teunis - 07-25-2009 06:31 PM (07-25-2009 05:03 PM)Jerome Wrote: Please anybody help me what am I doing wrong.... You're not doing anything wrong, just use option 2. To edit or modify the other files do the following: 1. Install telnet 2. open telnet to your NMT 3. execute: Code: cd /share/DownloadAnd you should be off again. ps> I've updated the CSI package. The default umask for new installations should be 0 now. If you see the same permission issues mentioned in the previous posts: uninstall transmission and install it again (uninstall step is required!). Timeouts - beatnut88 - 08-07-2009 09:41 AM Hi, I keep getting timeouts and peer resets running the web interface & the Windows GUI. Sometime I can connect OK - other times nothing but these errors. I will admit to being pretty much entirely ignorant of Linux so I probably will not be able to delve into the innards of the pch a-110. however, if there is anything I need to check or reinstall I will try my best to implement. Any help appreciated. running XP SP3 |
