RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD) - marw1980 - 06-22-2010 12:46 PM
I had a hard time with the connection via CSI. Trolled the forums but could not find a working solution. i was able to ftp via another software to the a200, but got the "make sure you got the fpt server running" message in CSI.
My solution was to run CSI in compability mode XP SP3, i'm on W7 x64.
Maybee it has been mentioned before, but posting in case it has not.
here was my error log before compability mode turned on:
22.06.2010 12:03:11;Error;WebException during install method of UploadInstaller; The remote server returned an error: (550) File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access).; at com.nmtinstaller.csi.Utilities.FtpCommands.UploadFolder(String server, String username, String password, String localFolder, String remoteFolder, UpdateProgressInfo OnProgressChange) in F:\Ger Data\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\NMTApplicationInstaller\trunk\Utilities\FtpCommands.cs:line 336 - at com.nmtinstaller.csi.Utilities.UploadInstaller.InstallThread() in F:\Ger Data\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\NMTApplicationInstaller\trunk\Utilities\UploadInstaller.cs:line 153

That is kinda weird; I use it on W7 x64 myself without any problems.
But if it solves you or others problems: good!

Me, too. Running it on Win7 x64 and x32 + Win2k8 x32 with no problems. But, as the poster before me said... Probably nice to know if others are having the same prob

I installed few CSI programs on my A200 and none of them is working but it showed me that the installation was successful and done. So why not working?
I've got apps installed on USB stick and Sata HDD-NTFS build in PCH.
I can read the files on A200 and they are placed on my HDD.
Any ideas what may cause the problem??

I've not found the answer searching the forum.
I'm running CSI under Ubuntu and I've to launch it using sudo.
Is there a way to launch it without sudo ?

Hi, that's not a CSI or NMT issue but a local linux ussue.
Please make sure mono as well as csi files are accessible for your normal account.

First problem is that you need to give more information. What message do you get where? Please post more info then "so why is it not working".

I understand that's a Linux problem but I'm not very familiar with mono as CSI is the first app I'm using with mono.
I tried to launch Linux start.s within a terminal and I have this error message :
I've checked and all file from the zip file are accessible under a directory in my Home.
But for mono what should I check ?

$ mono --version
Does the mono version meet the requirements as noted in the first post in this thread?

Make sure the folders where CSI is is writeable for your account.
You could also try removing the .local/Ger\ Teunis folder form your home.

the only message I get is 'file not found' is it because while instaling the software I chose Popcorn Hour instead of Popcorn Hour (USB)??

i had some problems using the CSI start script. Whenever my internet connection is down, my internet router generates a user friendly message for every http request (a webpage saying the internet connection is down)
however when the internet connection down while appinit.cgi is run, appinit.cgi tries to upgrade itself and replaces itself with that user friendly message, and after that ofcourse my applications don't start anymore.
@Get Teunis, could you make a bugfix which checks if the downloaded appinit.cgi is really a appinit.cgi file? (e.g. a check on the 1st line. This could be a fixed text. If it differs: Generate an error message (upgrade error))
in the meantime, if anyone else has this problem: I have created a script to repair appinit.cgi and start the apps manually when this happens. (this script downloads appinit.cgi from the repository and give the command 'appinit start' to start the apps)
1st: creae a html page with a link to a cgi script (in this case href="http://localhost.drives:8883/HARD_DISK/csi_start_manual.cgi")
the contents of the cgi script (csi_start_manual.cgi) are
#repair CSI start script
echo -n "Getting File From Repository<BR>"
wget -q -O "$APPINIT_PROFILE/$APPINIT_FILENAME" $APPINIT_UPGRADE_URL
chmod a+x "$APPINIT_PROFILE/$APPINIT_FILENAME"
i've placed these files in /share (make sure the .cgi is flagged executable), so i can repair the appinit.cgi by accessing the html page from Gaya.

still nothing now even its not connecting to my NMT why?
RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD) - Ger Teunis - 07-11-2010 06:31 PM
Please guys; use the FAQ first (first post)
@akamming> it was on my todo list already.
Repairing appinit is easier: remove appinit folder and use CSI once.
Lot easier right? :-)
Problem Operation not permitted - mimilooze - 07-28-2010 10:39 PM
I have problem, i can't to install CSI Gaya and others apps.
there is message :
"Starting CSI Gaya: ln: /share/Apps/AppInit/websites/CSI Gaya_web: Operation not
ln: /share/Apps/AppInit/websites/CSI Gaya_gaya: Operation not permitted"
, and when I launch CSI Gaya from PCH A-200, I have a message which warning, the
request can't be executed. Press "return" for back to the back screen.
If someone can help me, that be cool, thanks.

You could elaborate on more details and it will be easier to make a diagnosis.
- What hdd type do you use? (SATA, USB, CF-disk etc)
- Do you have NMT Apps installed and working?
- What NMT model do you have? (100-series/compatible or 200-series)
From the looks there is something odd with permissions. If you don't have shell but FTP, you can change permissions with some FTP clients (I think FileZilla does it, to mention one) by sending a 'raw' or 'custom' commands such as chown and chmod. If you do have shell, LundmanShell or telnet respectively, then it's easier to have a look on the internals.
