Until Ger has time to fix the original packaging, the workaround is presented in the post above yours.

Download notepad++ from http://notepad-plus-plus.org/release/5.8.7
Go into NMT Installer, select package to install, hit next. This step downloads the files to your computer (not the PCH) in a Temp directory under the directory you installed NMT installer. Open the temp dir and open appinit.cgi in Notepad++
In Notepadd++ click edit, EOL conversion, Unix format.
Click File, Save
Go back to NMT Installer and click next again to send it to your PCH for successful install
Thanks for pointing us in the right direction DarkBeer & dc11ab!
I'll try that workaround tonight.

Kudos to Zombiehunter who nailed it, and DarkBeer for providing the workaround instructions. Show them some loving "THX"'s! Big Grin

Confirmed this worked for me.

Great work DarkBeer. This brought back my A100 to life. Thanks indeed.
Note to others: the appinit.cgi should be changed to unix for every package you install.

Oh man, didn't get any notifications of posts of this thread.
Okay, all users having 404 are solved by the line ending fix?
I can't see the issue here and have checked the files here, I even tried from scratch a couple of days ago.

I have moved the domains to a new hosting server, perhaps something went wrong there.

running latest firmware and CSI 2.7.2, using the fix provided above (notepad++, save as unix file, etc) worked for me. Prior to that, was getting a 404 error.

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.7.2 ** UPDATED DEC 28th ** - Ger Teunis - 02-02-2011 08:08 PM

I mean; please check again without the fix.
A1xx users should not be using the fix: it should work from scratch.
The site and repository was moved to a new hosting provider; which might have had some side effects.

Sorry for the inconvenience, too bad I could not fix it before: I couldn't reproduce.

confirmed it myself may times last night
if you let the download and install progress go a normal you get the 404 error
if you open the appinit.cgi that is created in the Temp folder it has window/dos eol encoding
when you change to unix , save and then click on the next button to install it works perfectly

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.7.2 ** UPDATED DEC 28th ** - Ger Teunis - 02-02-2011 08:19 PM

@zombiehunter
It should work without hack again now.

@Rest:
Ohh man, it was cyberduck doing an ASCII transfer of the script files which changed the line endings to CRLF during move of the site. Changed it back, bad duck.

Thanks guys, thanks for using CSI.
I have contacted some individuals for some 'aftercare'.

I have a A110 and when I tried to install Sysinfo, without doing the fix, i'm getting 404 error

edit: The appinit.cgi is in Unix eol conversion without doing the hack but still getting the 404 error.

Could you send me your appinit.cgi?
Please delete the folder AppInit after that and then try again.

You have my mail address in your PM regarding the other issue.
Ps> other users reported it worked out fine for them.
Will try to help you all who have residual issues.

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.7.2 ** UPDATED DEC 28th ** - bobster84 - 02-02-2011 11:51 PM

I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED AN PCH A110. WITH INTERNAL 1TB HDD.
(LATEST FIRMWARE: DEC 2010)
HAVE YAMJ RUNNING, NO PROBS THERE.
WINDOWS 7.
EXT2IFS INSTALLED.

I INSTALLED CSI, BUT CAN'T INSTALL APPS OR SEE INSTALLED ONES.
JUST GET ERROR (404 NOT FOUND). SEARCHED THROUGH FORUMS, WITH NO SUCCESS.

1. Make sure you have the FTP running on the NMT (DONE)
2. Disable all firewalls and other protection software (DONE)
3. Try the NMT's IP address instead of hostname in CSI's setup (DONE)
4. Remove "/Apps/AppInit" folder from your NMT's HDD. (CAN'T FIND)
5. Remove any foreign files from the NMT's hdd top directory (DONE)
6. Use clean from CSI (Extra -> Advanced -> Clean) (DONE)
7. Reinstall NMT Apps from usb (DONE)

PLEASE HELP.
