RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD) - mvveelen - 03-12-2010 07:48 AM

Hi, I'm having some troubles with the NMT Community Installer. Most of the time when I start the program, it hangs with the message in the top bar : "Fetching current application information". It then just won't go any further. I'm using the right (fixed) IP Address and just once in a while it works but most of the time it doesnt.

I'm using the latest Installer and on my laptop I'm using Windows7 Pro.

What can be wrong and/or what can I do to solve this ?

That indicates your NMT might be very busy at that moment with for instance NZB or Torrent downloading. If that is not the case I would recommend a clean install of the NMT via the USB method mentioned in the first post.

Dank je Ger Smile

The Eminent is not busy unpacking / downloading / playing or whatsoever, so option 2 might be the solution.

You mean this :

Quote:Install results are empty
- Remove /Apps/AppInit and retry installing an application.
- Make sure that NMT is able to connect the internet on it's own! This is a requirement until the new version is CSI is out.

I just have to delete that subdirectory and then reinstall the applications ?

I think you'll get better results with this one:
Reinstall NMT Apps (1st party) using instructions here.

Geen dank hoor.
The root cause is that the NMT is not reacting, most likely nmt problem or perhaps network problem but less likely.

Well, I'm not going to do that at the moment then.... Everything is working fine at the moment and I just wanted to try some apps and update Oversight. Thanx !

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD) - Ger Teunis - 03-12-2010 09:05 AM

It are the 1st party apps, which will leave all other CSI apps in place.
Should be a relatively save operation.

True....I'll try it this weekend then Smile Thanx.

Feature Request:

Any way to implement a "Clear Cache" option in CSI.

That would be very useful and handy.

Thanks

[Edit: sorted - non-utf-8 encoding ]

Hi, I think CSI doesnt like my current repository revision but I'm not sure how I messed it up?

Here are the revisions: (see diffs on right hand side)
http://code.google.com/p/nmt-mini-installer/source/browse/downloads/RepositoryInfo.xml
http://code.google.com/p/nmt-mini-installer/source/browse/downloads/nmt200/RepositoryInfo.xml

Anyone spot anything?

PS did you get my comments re drwxrwxrwx on c200 ?

Yeah, i'll look at it soon. Currently finishing up another hobby project.
Nice find.

Your repository file; did you check the logs (errorlog.csv or windows event log?)

Sorted the xml. It was the accent on Leon - it was 8bit ascii not utf-8. I should have known after my last code changes!

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD) - mvveelen - 03-17-2010 07:53 PM

@Ger Teunis : I reinstalled the NMT programs (twice to be sure Big Grin) but it didn't really help : I can start CSI and I can update Lordy's Oversight. I can change the "loading" pictures, but I can't reinstall the Carbon theme. I installed that theme a while ago using the "install from file" method but it doesn't appear in the installed programs list. So I thought it would be nice to reinstall the theme to get it listed. But everytime I try it, it waits....and waits....and times out with a message stating that the FTP isn't working/reacting on the Eminent (and FTP is working, no doubt about that).

So what else could I try now ?

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.2 (NEW THREAD) - mvveelen - 03-22-2010 07:38 PM

Nobody ? It's not only with this theme, it's with other themes I'm trying to install also (didn't try them all though...)....
