I downloaded this too. followed the guide and it says request cannot be processed when I click the html file. I keep following different tips and all lead to no where.
1. I put the files on the USB stick root renamed the cgi file and put this in the cgi file to make it chmod.
# start of PEU edit for windows users
chmod 755 /usr/bin/utelnetd
chmod 755 /usr/bin/busybox26
chmod 755 telnet-installer.cgi
# end of PEU edit for windows users
2. I tried the community installer and it could not connect to my PCH, it said to re-install the NMT apps in maintenance, but there is no option for this under maintenance.

This is getting dumb already I just keep going in circles with this thing. I installed a hard drive to get the NMT apps to work installed the telnet version on the community installer still wont connect. I keep trying to install via usb unsuccessfully. Install a ftp server so i could chmod the files I either get a blank white screen or telnetd already set to start skipping starting telntd.... and still get stuck...I don't think it should be this difficult .. if you are going to charge for it at least make it so I can install it easier. make a package with the community install which took only a few minutes to figure out once I installed a HD. I spent hours on this already and im asking apple for a refund. I dont care if its $3 I would rather have my time back.

I too, am very discouraged by the lack of progress on this product. In earlier versions, Network shares were clumsy and inconsistent, but at least they kind of worked. With the latest version, I get an empty directory no matter what I try.

I too, am very discouraged.
I have tried the app on my A-100, A-110. I have tried it also on all my friends popcorn players, that is 4 of them.
I cannot re-create this problem and it's very hard on fix something that i am not experiencing.
I have put off the development for the 200 series to try to solve these problems that i cannot see.
Responding to an earlier post, the cost of this app ($1.99) is merely to cover what apple is asking ($100/year) for development. This is not one of those apps that you make thousands of dollars since the target group is very small.
I didn't want to use a community installer since this would require a installed HD. I've used this most of the time installing telnetd from a usb to memory or directory from my NAS to memory when reboot was required. I have also made clear, from the app store, the other software needs to be installed. Something that 99.9% of the users have done successfully.
Any other way requires alot of work, which right now i have other priorities.
I am doing this just for love i have with the popcorn hour and to cover my basic need to listen and browse music with my tv set closed.
I thank everyone for supporting this app and responding to me to solve their problems. I will continue to fix and add new features for all of those how have found this app worth their while.

Does this mean that development for the 200 series is permanently out of scope?

No, i am continuing it. I have solved the basic problems for selecting and playing files but i have to put it all together. It's just that i'm still working on the current version most of the time.
I want to finish though first with the current version so there will be no problems before moving on.

Hi, don't worry - it was just my inexperience. The upgrade happened free of charge, once I worked out how to do it!
Thanks once again
Hi, now running version 1.7.14. A bit of a mixed bag, sorry I can't be very precise in my reports, but here goes:
1/ I don't know if it was just "upgrade blues" but for several attempts the app just showed an empty root folder (I tried maybe 20 times).
Then I got a root folder listing, but just crashed (returned to main screen) when I went into "Music".
But then it just started working, and seems to be OK now.
Maybe just "upgrade blues" issue, anyway I can't recreate it now ;-)
2/ Filename support - much better, thanks. It copes with "Sinéad O'Connor" as a folder name, for example. However folder names with ampersand signs e.g. "Mozart - Flute Concertos - Swedish Chamber Orchestra & Gallois" - gives the dreaded empty folder. If I replace the & with a dash then all is well.
I tried this with a couple of folders and the & character seems to be the cause.
I guess maybe the ampersand sign has a special meaning? (I think it used to mean "run in the background" in Unix shell perhaps?).
Would appreciate your thoughts on this .. I can go through and fix the folder names, but it's around 200+ folders within folders ..
Sometimes it gets a bit out of sync with its folder listings, showing a "bit of what you were just looking at plus what you're looking at now" i.e. a concatenation / buffering issue. However I think it only happens after the "& problem" occurs first.
.. another one: Folder beginning with underscore e.g. my practice tracks are in folder "_guitar" causes the app to crash.

thanks for the valuable input.
I'll see what's going on the & character.
A couple of users are have also this concatenation issue. I thought is was from more complex installations (2 pch with common shares) but i have tried this and it's not the problem.
I'll get this done with the next update along with some new features.

Is there any chance that this App will become available for the 200-series in the near future?
I am very eager to get this functionality with my C-200 and subscribed to this forum. However, I only see further development on the existing versions.
Thanks in advance,

It will. At first only the basic functionality, browsing and playing individual files since alot of things are different in the 200 series.
At the moment i'm working on both since the a200 needs research and testing to figure out how things work.
I hope this will be ready in 3-4 weeks.

Thx for the app Temm , congratz on the release and hoping for many updates!
I managed to connect to the NMT (Iobox - Dragontech) with the App (on my Ipad) and i can controle the nmt with the Remote.
The "Media" tab however doesn't show me anything ... stays empty. When rebooting the app the media tab tells me the following:
*You are not connected
*Connected device is Unknown. Disconnecting.
Does this mean i cannot use the app to the fullest on my IObox?
