have massive lip sync problems on MKVs now when previous firmwares didnt have the issues with the exact same files at all.

I upgraded to Firmware 02-02-100214-19-POP-408 (02-01-100119-19-POP-408 Apps) (16.03.2010) but do not dare to flash to the latest one.

Any official reaction what the problem might have been? Just coincidence or a firmware issue?

Peter.

Now I'm starting to get concerned. I got my PH last Nov, I think it was the 3rd batch. I've always updated online, never a problem. Even this FW and Apps went fine. The unit seems to work fine but I've been away for a few days and haven't used it much.

I don't know if I should leave it or go back. I hate to take a chance of it going down and having to ship it in, but also don't like taking the chance of reverting to a previous FW and having a problem there.

I think it would really be good if we could identify the build date on the units that are failing and how many there actually are.

Is this a couple units of thousands made or does it relate to a specific chip number.

If this is as serious as some seem to think I think a seperate thread should be started so we can get deeper into it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The reason why this firmware was released on this issue rather than more time spent trying to fix BD playback is because the new Sigma SDK.libs have a new BD playback engine and HDMI improvements in it. So there was no point spending anymore time on the old BD playback engine as it's now being replaced.
This may make a bit more sense as to why a firmware that reduces BD playback was released and make you feel that they do know what you are experiencing.

That's good news indeed. I actually got the Bourne Trilogy to play in the end, but it required several attempts with following lock-ups and reboots. However, when I finally got it to load the menu the disc played fine (I watched the 2nd one yesterday). BD playback has always been somewhat erractic on these things, so I'm happy to see that there will be a definite improvement in the forseeable future.

i've used all previous firmwares without any issues, it's only this one that has caused my c-200. I've received rma to send it back, but it gonna cost me at least £20

I have the exact same problem and have not been able to fix it. Has anybody else come across this and found a solution?

Go to maintenance and use the "NMT apps wizard".

re @ all,

since the last firmware update, I cant get it work, to automount my smb-ahres at booting. I added these line in my start_app.sh :
Code:
#M_A_R_K_E_R_do_not_remove_me
/bin/mount -t cifs //192.168.0.11/xY "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/xY" -o username=TiLT,password=00815
/bin/mount -t cifs //192.168.0.11/_hD.sD "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/HD" -o username=TiLT,password=00815
/bin/mount -t cifs //192.168.0.11/_hD.2 "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/HD2" -o username=TiLT,password=00815
/bin/mount -t cifs //192.168.0.11/_tv.ripz "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/TV" -o username=TiLT,password=00815
/bin/mount -t cifs //192.168.0.11/_XviDs "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/KiNO" -o username=TiLT,password=00815
/bin/mount -t cifs //192.168.0.11/_mp3s_uPloAd "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/Mp3s_uP" -o username=TiLT,password=00815

exit
...but after the last firware update it doesnt work anymore. I rolled back to
Code:
02-02-100214-19-POP-408-000
but that brings nothing. My smb-shares werent mounted at booting Sad.....

I had a line in the start_app.sh that stopped the internal HDD from spinning down all the time, and this is not working anymore either. So maybe it doesn't read the file at boot anymore? Huh

But I guess most people don't know hoe to get the best value for their setup. Is there an easy way to calculate this? Or is there a good general value? For me the performance toward my NAS is most important, so I would like to optimize it for that. But I don't know the maximum bandwidth from the C200 towards the NAS and the latency will be <1 ms, but is 1 accurate enough? And what is the MSS (1460?)? Tricky matter with possibly big consequences. Would have been good if PCH would have put a automated measurement in the interface (should be possible or?).

Any good tips?

I'd also really like to know how to set the right rwin. If I look in my NAS Samba snd and rcv buffers are set to 64240, is that the number i'm looking for ? Or does it mean something completly different ?

I have to say it appears that way. I have tried 20 different combinations of the hdparm line I used before and it just won't work. I was so happy when I managed to fix this a while back because the spindown timer of 10 minutes is so incredibly annoying.

Hmm, this still doesn't fix one tiny issue:
If you add shares including the password to your network shares, (at least I have that problem) I can open the saved entry but I cannot 'save' or 'delete' the share.
Only the 'Add' and 'Cancel' buttons are present...

Any news on that issue?

I tryed many diff ways too, I rolled back to fw
Code:
02-02-100109-19-POP-408
include the NMT APPS, but it still dont work. THE SMB Shares doesnt automount anymore. Before the last fw update all was fine with autoumounting my SMB-SHARES with that Lines in m y start_app.sh
Code:
#M_A_R_K_E_R_do_not_remove_me
/bin/mount -t cifs //192.168.0.11/_hD.sD "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/HD" -o username=TiLT,password=00815
/bin/mount -t cifs //192.168.0.11/_hD.2 "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/HD2" -o username=TiLT,password=00815
/bin/mount -t cifs //192.168.0.11/_tv.ripz "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/TV" -o username=TiLT,password=00815
/bin/mount -t cifs //192.168.0.11/_XviDs "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/KiNO" -o username=TiLT,password=00815

exit 0

Did your start_app.sh worked before the last fw update ??

Ok, it seems like I have found a solution. I deleted the start_app.sh file and reinstalled lundman shell to rebuild it. I then added the /sbin/hdparm -S0 /dev/sda line and it seems to work again. So to anyone who has problems with getting settings in the start_app.sh file to work, try rebuilding it.

Found a problem I didn't have before. I used to convert WMV files with wmapro audio to MKV with wmv (vc-1) video and ac3 audio. Those files played fine on the previous firmware, but now the video stutters. WMV files play fine otherwise, with PCM decoding multichannel to my amplifier.

Problem seems to be in the combination of vc-1 video and ac3 audio in a MKV container.
