i have at now 20 Remuxes in "VC-1 & MKV" and in all of them video inhibits , if i convert them to .ts\.m2ts\BD it will fine in C-200

and have problem with new MKVMerge

Have you read this thread http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=42744

Apparantly, header compression is set to default from mkvmerge 4.2.0. A workaround is presented in the thread (setting compression to none on the extra options thread). Moreover, according to the beta change log a workaround is present in the new firmware cycle)

Regarding VC-1 in MKV, I've read somewhere that it is fixed in the new firmware (maybe a beta tester can confirm this for you, otherwise post a beta request in this thread: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=42035)

VC-1 in MKV is reported as fixed by the Beta Testers.

Some kind of confirmation of this would be fair...

It's not like everything you ever bought in your life was the right purchase. Everyone in the world makes wrong choices.

People lost money before and the negativity level from your posts make it seem like you were hornswoggled in a elaborate Ponzi scheme and you were defrauded out of one's life savings.

Puhleeze... a little perspective please. This thing doesn't even cost $500. I see the countries where you guys are from and I DON'T expect to see it because of the standard of living in your countries.

Sell it.

unfortunately it does, between $400 - $450 in Australia depending on demand. Priced at up to 3 x some other players that run on more mature platforms. Though they don't have a bluray drive but that feature is wearing very thin now.

as ive said this new firmware will be the decider as to if my c-200's go in the bin (back to the store) or finally live up to the name Angle nice to see there is a lot of effort going in, here's hoping Smile

The Beta Testers will get RC4 tomorrow.

We don't promote active discussion of beta firmwares in the open forum as things get confusing very quickly. However given the time since the last open frelease and the clamour for the next here's what we know of RC4:-

Some fixes:

Fixes:
- [VOD/AOD]
- Fixed SimpleBD DTS-HD audio incorrectly switched to DTS after seek operation (Mantis #5001602)
- Fixed certain small video files causing incorrect "buffering" display and hang up after playback
- Fixed audio volume level and mute inconsistency after seek operation
- Fixed wrong fps info on certain TS and MKV files
- [HDMI]
- Fixed HDMI CEC issue (Mantis #5001609/#0000144)
- [Apps]
- Latest fixes (including the YouTube twirling thing..)
- Known issues
- Unable to bitstream WMA Pro, default to downmix regardless of settings for now.

Tomorrow we'll update the Beta changelog thread with the official details.
Remember that if you wish to join the Beta Team the doors are now open:-

I prefer some more weeks in the waiting loop above upgrading the C200 over and over again Exclamation
Release Candidate 3, 4 or even 5, what the heck ! As long as the official release will be GREAT I have the patience Shy

Testers, do your best to find the last nasty bugs so that we ("the paying audience") can enjoy the C200 for many months.

Thank you!
Bernd

I had 2 Dlink dsg1005 switches, which are ok for everyday use, and could not get gig/e working on my pch. Neither did my nas stream properly.
Only my pc , which i had been using up till then, would work. But only without jumbo-frames.
I replaced both of them with HP Procurve 1400 and ....
C200 with gig/e !
PC streams nfs-tcp and smb with jumbo frames !
NAS streams nfs-cp and smb with jumbo frames !
Only downer is now that copying to and fro the c200 is still not rocksteady. (trying to offload 1.2TB to NAS)
Hi,
There seems to be 2 different versions of the D-Link gigabit switch DGS-1005D, an "old-looking" one in metal color and a "Green-environmental ffriendly" one in white plastic. Which version do (did) you have when you encountered the above mentioned problem?
I have several "white" ones in my home network (HW REV = F) and these support Jumbo Frames according the data sheet:

+ Supports 9,000Bytes Jumbo Frames
(only support in 1000Mbps)

From what I've seen its obvious that you should not get your hopes up.

I'll try that ... thnx mate.... what is that cache doing and why could it cause problems??

Because some of the components are cached to the C-200 for the old apps/firmware as apposed to the new ones and when it goes to fetch the data it will crash the player.

In fact, Youtube is the most attracting thing that made me keep my C-200 till now.
Can't wait to see it out!
