I was just getting acquainted with CSI, and selected XBMC as an experiment.
I think it ruined my PCH interface (just guessing at the cause!), as now I have a highly pixellated interface, unreadable. For example, the Start menu has the big letter "S" as about 8 pixels wide! It is all unreadable, and unusable.
I am thinking that a first step is to uninstall the XBMC that I did from CSI - but how? The display is still in the classic format, just the resolution is ruined - so this may be a mis-diagnosis, but in any case is useful to know.
If this is not a good guess as to why the display is broken, any other advice is welcome!
CSI does not show it as installed, but also does not show several other things that I did install (Apple trailers, weather, ...), so that part of CSI seems broken.
Clearly I need to know more about XBMC, but for now I just want to recover my basic interface...
(I tried all of the Video out mode resets, to no avail.)

I restored the original interface (downloaded the starting template and installed it), and things seemed OK, but once I go to play any .iso or other file that can't play for some reason, the display reverts to the broken (pixellated, unreadable) state, until the unit is rebooted.

On the hardrive in the picture folder there is a folder called _theme_ delete it and it will restore the original menu's back. All the original menu items are stored in read only partition of the drive. anything in the _theme_ folder overrides them

Do you mean in the Photo directory? No such file or folder there. Also see my last note... This doesn't seem to be the problem, but I don't know what is! :-)

When in doubt: re-install firmware, re-install NMT Apps. (A typical installation of NMT Apps doesn't touch your media on the drive). Check the NMT wiki for details.

Thanks, sounds like a good idea.
I have always installed latest firmware, never updated apps that I know of.
I don't see any options for either of these since I am at the latest firmware - does this mean that I have to do a manual download, USB stick, and install for both firmware and apps?
