mkvmerge 4.2.0 mkv's are unpayable - iKarampa - 08-16-2010 02:35 PM Hi, I recently upgraded to version 4.2.0 from 3.3.0 and I tried some recodes with Audioconverter. I could hear the sound but I could not see the video for any of the them. I converted the mkv's to a 3.3.0 version and it works fine. I am on the latest firmware. Anyone else experienced this? I have converted around 3 dozen files to 4.2.0 Is there a quick way to fix this?
RE: mkvmerge 4.2.0 mkv's are unpayable - T800 - 08-16-2010 03:15 PM The C-200 has the ability to play these files in the next firmware but for A100/110 I have no idea. For now you will have to re-mux them. RE: mkvmerge 4.2.0 mkv's are unpayable - iKarampa - 08-16-2010 03:30 PM ok, thanks noooooooooooooooooo.... RE: mkvmerge 4.2.0 mkv's are unpayable - cheaper_popcorn - 08-16-2010 03:39 PM You might be able to batch convert all your files instead of processing them individually, using this method: Load up the first file in mkvmerge GUI. Then proceed to do the changes you like, in your case, disable header compression. Remember to set the desired output directory, too. When finished, don't click Start muxing, but instead click Muxing in the menu, the choose 'Copy command line to clip board'. Then open your favourite text editor. Paste the command line there, then for each following file, just change the input and output file name. That should give you a working batch file. RE: mkvmerge 4.2.0 mkv's are unpayable - iKarampa - 08-16-2010 04:28 PM Hi, Unfortunately each file has unique settings for video, audio and subtitles. I am afraid I am going to have to bite the bullet on this one

There is also no way to turn off the header compression as a default setting in 4.2.0 ... asked the author and he said no way right now. So you have to go to all tracks and individually set the compression to "none" for anything you do... As mentioned, supposed to be fixed on new A/C200 firmware coming very soon, but the A100/110 ... none known ... RE: mkvmerge 4.2.0 mkv's are unpayable - iKarampa - 08-17-2010 10:11 AM Hi, My bad, I should have done a test mkv first! Is it a bad thing to keep them in the 3.3.0 version? Never had any problems before. The latest version of AudioConverter has an option on whether or not to enable header compression. Default it OFF (ie. no compression). You can't use this to fix already converted files, but for future conversions, you should be safe if you keep this option unchecked in AudioConverter. |
