How to create your own custom interface - philhelm - 09-17-2008 10:31 PM

Is there a thread on this somewhere? I see a bunch of posts about "it is documented in several places", but unless im not making the connection, i dont see anything like this. Are people referring to an MSP plugin? If so, is there a thread that says "how to create your first simple custom interface and get it onto PH". Do you need a HD installed?

Here is what I want to do: Create a custom interface where I can :

a. search for movie titles
b. display the dvd cover artwork
c. display a brief summary of the movie
d. categorize by genre (comedy, action, etc)

thanks
phil

Welcome to the Popcorn Hour, Phil! There are a number of ways to do what you are asking for. Generically, they are refered to as "Movie Jukeboxes" and the link for them here is:

Personally, I use "My Lil Movie Jukebox" because I liked the comprehensive nature of the movie details.

My only advice is to take your time. I spent most of a Saturday getting everything set up and working the first time. After that, it's not too bad and the "WAF factor" goes through the roof!!! Smile
