Change peer limit in trasmission

Hi all,

I have a problem changing the trasmission peer limit (v1.93).
Now It's set to 20, I read an old 3d where there were all the instruction to do that, but I don't know why, the limit is always set to 20

So I install from CSI the transmission 1.93, I have stoped it.
Appl/trasmission -> defaultsettings.json - I have open it with ultraedit and changed from 20 to 210 the limit.
Saved the file. (I have also checked, copying the file and opening it that the limit was changed)

I Start the client, added torrent but when it start dowloading there were always 20 max peer limit.
So I launch Transmission remote, right click on the torrent, proprieties and changed from 20 to 210.
Ok, now it works for that torrent!

But every new torrent I add, have always the limit of 20

Where am I wrong?
If i understand, that changing, should be final
