Openvpn tun-module
Hello there, I recently got my A-100, and have been up and at it since. One of my goals is to get openvpn up and running, so I can connect to my mediacenter that is not located at home.

I got a hold of someones toolchain (don't remember the username right now), so I've got ssh and all, and a running openvpn binary. Problem is the lack of tun-module, so my thoughts went to cross-compiling it. Has anyone managed to cross-compile kernel-modules yet? If so, are you able to either help me get my cross-compile up and running, or just compile the module i need? (tun.o or tun.ko)

RE: Openvpn tun-module
NVM, i managed to compile the kernel-module at last. Next thing is to find out how the modules on the A-100 works, seems to be some strange folder structure that I haven't encountered before.

RE: Openvpn tun-module
Most straight forward approach is just to use the busybox insmod applet and insert it manually.

RE: Openvpn tun-module
Even if the the thread is quite old, it could be interesting for some of you.
I used SSH tunnel (with dropbear) during a few weeks in order to acces to my PCH (ssh, ftp, http, samba) from outside. But it was not enough. So I decided to install openvpn. After multiple searchs on the forum, and a few days of work, I have openvpn running directly on my PCH.

As a summary, I did :
  1. Install Lundman's toolchain here
  2. Download Linux kernel from Syabas : here
  3. Compile kernel module TUN (tun.ko)
  4. Copy tun.ko in /lib/modules/2.6.15-sigma/kernel/drivers/net/
  5. Load the module into kernel (insmod -v tun.ko)
  6. Install debian following Gwillem's thread : here
  7. Install openvpn via Debian (chroot and then apt-get install openvpn openssl)
  8. Configure the VPN server (PCH) and the client, following any good tuto on the web for debian...

And enjoy Smile

Off course, you can add openvpn and load module into a script to avoid to do it by hand after any reboot.
