RE: Easy streaming from Windows 7 to PCH

Do you know how I can get my NMT to play the entire list without stopping? FW and RW control works fine. It's just that the WMP play to list stops after each track. Really annoying. Do you know how to get it right?

I use this method on my PCH A110 and it works quite well. I tried also with foo_upnp plugin in foobar2K and it worked too.

To sum up, i'm talking about the "play to" feature, saying using my laptop to trigger launch of music on my popcorn. It allows to manage my media library/playlists on the laptop and it's quite cool.

But it only works with MP3 and not FLAC files.. Anyone managed to make this working with FLAC files ? When i try the "play to" feature with flac file, nothing happens on the PCH.

With foobar2K i managed to get some log files, and it seems to be related with the MIME type PCH is using for FLAC. If someone have any clues on this.... Angle

I think it should be possible to do a proxy/firewall/IPTABLES-hack, to ensure traffic is from local media server to NMT on the LAN only, while requested via the external IP in the router.

unfortunately no, ive just got my netgear router which I dont know much about, I see you can mess with routes, firewall rules, etc but I dont know much about this stuff, any idea if I can do something like that on the netgear ?

I wonder why PCH have done it like this ?

RE: Stream PC Audio to PCH?
Unfortunately my answer to both of your questions is: I have no idea.

Perhaps you can find more info on how to configure the Netgear router on the Netgear forums. My first google hit wasn't exactly what's needed, but FWIW you can search their forums and documentation for more info:
http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=131

As for the NMT's "solution", I guess that's a design choice, for good and bad. I don't know why they've done it this way.

Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn.

You could try to portforward as you did and then instruct your firewall to not pass the port to the outside world. Most Firewalls are configurable in a way that you grant acces to certain domains like local netwrok, outside world. etc.

If your ISP is charging for traffic you should also be able to see statistics about this. Maybe it's good to just check if it is also picking up upstreams. Most ISP where I live only monitor downstreams.

I might be able to look into it if you give me the type of router you have.

Best regards,
