Where do you get openssl/curl etc installed? /usr/local/mips ? I am using lundmans binary toolchain, and transmission build couldn't find openssl includes until I stupidly copied it to transmission directory... Also I had to manual edit the openssl makefile as latest version configure doesn't take "--target"... |

Some report great download speed and others (like myself) just can't get it do download on public trackers. They are working hard to get transmission more 'tuned' at the moment. Hopefully it will make it better for the NMT as well. Perhaps I should look at some alternatives in the future. I too have problems with 1.42 stopping talking to trackers, its annoying, but at least a restart fixes it for a while. |

RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.42 FINAL
I installed Transmission 1.42 but it does not seem to able to connect to many clients and the connections to the clients that it does connect to keep dropping. So it is about 20 times slower then BT. It was mentioned that in the upcoming firmware update BT will be eliminated. I just hope that they have Transmission working by then. The way it is now it is unusable.

BTPD work much better and is about 10 times faster on some torrents. It is a shame that transmission can't do its primary job correctly. After all what is a torrent client good for if it can't download torrents at an acceptable speed. But it has a nice interface. |

RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.42 FINAL
Yeah, it's even worse. They are going to use version 1.40.
I've tried to get them to use 1.42 at least, but it was too late in the next-firmware cycle. 1.40 has the big upload bug, fixed in 1.42. What I seem to notice is that big file-downloads / lots of downloads at the same time or when the NMT has high cpu loads seems to grind transmission to it's knees. I get reasonably good download speeds with small downloads (around 700mb or smaller). Some guys at the transmission crew seem to focus on performance now, I think the NMT will benefit from that too! I for one would have sent the device back if it only had Transmission installed on it. It would have been useless to me. I bought it for the reason that it could down load torrents. I guess I will have to wait with the firmware update until transmission is fixed. |

RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.42 FINAL
For anyone interested: I, every now and then, create a new build with the latest (sometimes experimental) code in it.
This code is most likely going to be used for a future 1.50 release. If you feel lucky and want to try it out, downloads are available on the download page. Easy way of installing software on your NMT using just your mouse: NMT Community Software Installer |

Because these builds are not 'official' no real support I suggest using the following link to figure out the changelogs: http://trac.transmissionbt.com/log/trunk Use filedate to figure out what patches got in (files GMT+1) Easy way of installing software on your NMT using just your mouse: NMT Community Software Installer |

Haha. a good idea if you can get it automated, I cannot get /usr/local/mips/include and lib resolved in build.. So no -lz -lssl etc working automatically.. Tired of exporting the path and includes again and again

RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.42 FINAL
Current build available on the download page is revision 7614, so you should be able to test if if works!
The current performance tweaks do not really work though, still around 60% cpu load on the NMT with big (25gb+) torrent downloads. (almost no speed though). Easy way of installing software on your NMT using just your mouse: NMT Community Software Installer |

RE: [transmission] Transmission 1.42 FINAL
Hello all,
I keep getting this message after about 2 mins: Connection Failed Could not connect to the server. You may need to reload the page to reconnect. I tried to reinstall Transmission 1.42 final, installed Torrentwatch 0.7.8. But nothing helped, still the same problem using a PCH A-110. Can anyone help me?
