When I do not have those settings configured and download OpenOffice.org Office Suite with no download limit it will crash the box, reproducible. When I enable the both peer settings I am able to download it correctly without crashes: tried multiple times and even with two torrents at the same time at 1150KB/s. So it seems to work here and all related to that the NMT is not able to cope with the default 240 global peer limit that well. Hopefully it will work for others as well.
