Please try uninstalling transmission via CSI.
Reboot the NMT and try installing it again.
Also make sure you check and disable any firewalls or virusscanners, a lot of users have a firewall issue when seeing this error.

Perhaps uninstalling lighttpd and rebooting the nmt may also help.

Look for watch-dir and watch-dir-enabled flags

Make sure you stop transmission and wait a while before editing the Apps/Transmission/.transmission/settings.json file.

Try with one big file (a full BR 40 giga).

Try limiting the download and upload speed to 100 (down) and 20 (up) and tune up step by step until it crashes again and go one step back.
