Every time I tried, I obtained in the screen the "usage" help screen from the daemon.

After a little debugging, I found out the problem: The code to determine my IP address was not doing it properly.

line in /mnt/syb8634/server/clutch:
MY_IP=`ifconfig | grep "inet addr" | grep -v 127.0.0.1 sed 's/.*inet addr:\([0-9.]*\).*/\1/'`

was returning two IP addresses (1 per line) my home private address 192.168.1.5 and my exterior address.

I changed the code to:

MY_IP=`ifconfig | grep "inet addr" | grep -v 127.0.0.1 | egrep -v 192.168.1.5 | sed 's/.*inet addr:\([0-9.]*\).*/\1/'`

and this way I was able to solve the problem...

I am not sure that this is a "real" problem or it was just a product of my tweaking...

Anyway... I just thought it might help someone else...

Original command is :
MY_IP=`ifconfig | grep "inet addr" | grep -v 127.0.0.1 | sed 's/.*inet addr:\([0-9.]*\).*/\1/'`. Lost '|'.

I try to launch in telnet. All is ok. Return only 1 correct IP address.
