Okay, I think it is not able to kill telnetd which is already running?
Open telnet to the NMT, then type
Code:
kill -9 telnetd

And retry.

i got these entries in start_app.sh in the root of my hd:

on a sidenote, the hard disk index.htm also doesn't open automatically on a reboot (the hd was mounted before the reboot)
the mono wrapper still works tough

you are right about the "stopactivehddstandby thingy" this one is not added to the startup script. You'll have to apply it after every reboot. I'll fix that later on (i am the package maintainer for that thingy).

index.htm does not open directly after reboot, you need to select the "source" after reboot. Sadly CSI cannot help you out there, that is controlled by the firmware. If you do not like that please file a firmware feature request somewhere else on the forums Smile

i had the index.htm opened automatically on reboot once or twice when i was trying it out, can live without

thanks for the thingy though Smile i really don't like my hd spinning on and off every two seconds

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 1.6.3
I downloaded and used the CSI and installed a Theme without any problems, but now when I try and install any of the app's from CSI I get this error message: "Connection error while trying to connect to MNT. Please check server settings in "Server/Hardware settings" in Extra menu. Also make sure you have FTP server running" FTP Sever is running on my NMT and in Sever/Hardware settings I am using the same info as before: Server; PCH-A110, User; ftpuser, Pass; 1234, so I'm not sure what try try now, any help much appreciated.

Could you search your harddrive (computer) for a file called ErrorLog.csv and post the content here?

I have done an extensive search but could not find the ErrorLog you mention, I seem to recall the last install using CSI was the telnet, Busybox, Midnight Commander although I'm not sure it fully installed, I left it more then an hour and it would not complete, I had read in other threads about it can take some time but gave up after an hour, so maybe the problem is related to this?

Neh, but you said it was installing. So you succeeded to start an installation before. Something else has to be wrong on your NMT.
Please clean out any installer.cgi and tar files from the root of you NMT's HDD and retry again.

Ps> I've changed the installation of telnetd a bit; it should never freeze anymore.

After upgrading to the latest firmware, the NMT Community Installer cannot connect to the tank either!

ErrorLog.cvs contains following line:
09-Mar-09 14:18:29;Warning;FTP test failed. Error while trying to connect to the FTP server.

The ftp server is runnig and fully accessible with the standard passwd
Undecided

Could you enter the ip addres instead of hostname of the NMT? This is a common issue with samba networks where the nmt's name is not published correctly to the samba's network.

Thanks, please do.
Hardware type is only used for starting code on the NMT. It should not prevent the ftp file down and upload.

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 1.6.3
Well, I did some analyzing with Wireshark, and the weird thing is - there are absolutely no packets coming from the apps to the tank!
HDX is generating pretty much traffic itself, and I connect to it by ftp, I clearly see the ftp-connect procedure in Wireshark. But it it comes to the installer - nothing's there! HuhHuh

For the record,
HW: HDX1000
Firmware: 50-17-090125-15-HDD-403 (latest)
Soft: Community Software Installer v. 1.6.3.0

Am I the only one expreriencing this weird behaviour ?
Or just the first one to notice, just like when I notived the slow download speed of the packages :-)
Sorry, my bad! Apparently, there's smth. seriously wrong with my .net framework - everything works perfectly on another machine, ftp-protocol packages from the installer - no probs!

damn that framework......Huh

Did you start the application from a local or network drive?
.NET will block all kinds of network traffic and local access when the application is started from a network drive (security sandbox)

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 1.6.3
Local, just like before.
I'll try to reinstall .Net. My system had actually suffered from a major screw up by the "Baggle" virus some time ago - I had to do some major cleaning up and restore, the installation service was screwed up, .Net 3.0 as well. I guess wintendo wouldn't recover completely unless I do a clean reinstall confusedconfused

But thanx a lot for the quick reply!!

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 1.6.3
Heya Ger,

2 questions for ya.

1. We're developing a new skin that includes a new custom buffering image (which is sweet looking), and i think we're gonna need to do a few test runs on the sizing of it.

Is there an easy way to include the file in CSI just to run some tests with and make sure we have it sized properly before we submit it to be officially included with CSI?

2. We were thinking of making new play/rewind/fastforward.... and installing a new font to connect the whole theme together.

If I find out the locations of those things and the file names...is that an easy thing to tack onto the installation? I actually seem to recall that the play/rewind/fast forward graphics are in the same directory as the buffering image. But i'm not possitive about that.

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 1.6.3
Hi excal,

1. It is really no problem to use CSI for testing and debugging.
First of all, you just need to zip the files (in the correct way, not hard to do) and use the option "Install from zip" under file menu.
This will allow you to install from any zip file as long as the format is correct. A page with detailed instructions is available here.

2. Ofcourse, if it is stored in /bin then the CSI already can update those files as well! (file extention bmp at the moment). If you need the CSI to change please contact me. I'll look into it and will integrate it in the following version.

There was just the one installer.cgi file in the root which I deleted but it did not solve the problem.
