Great great. You make me curious, what did you change to get it to work or what was the problem?

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.1.5 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
Hi all,

Cant update any software using CSI.... Sad

I get an error msg saying "FTP Connection Error. Can't connect Network Media Tank FTP server. Make sure FTP server is enabled. Check server settings and retry".
I've checked extra->settings->all others (i've got an A-110), also checked for firmware updates, rebooted, re-installed NMT CSI. FTP server is running, password correct etc etc. Tried it on Vista, and my macbook - all the same - except OCCASIONALLY on the pc it will go through to the install menu and THEN when I try and install an app I get the same error msg. There is no error csv file in the root - or any tar's. Only start_app.sh which I have attached below....

Incidentally, around the same time this problem started - Transmission stopped working with two of my normal torrent sites. I get 'verifying local data' and 'waiting to verify' permanently shown below the torrent. Not sure if this is related?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Matt

Hello Ger,
CSI Gaya on my HDX-1000.

Installation went without any glitch Smile

I do see however that not all apps are visible on the "installed" tab. In the normal installer I have 7 and using the web based i only have 4 (have not tried it on the HDX itself. In short all apps from Ydrol.... ehhh Lordy are missing.

Have: HDX-1000 with 1TB HD. usage: Movies, NZBget - Transmission

That can happen when the json file is not formatted completely correctly.
I'll ask lordy to inspect the appinfo.json files.

Could you differentiate more? What apps are exactly missing?

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.1.5 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
My "Installed" tab is now showing blank from within the CSI desktop application. I installed NZBGet, Feedtime, Oversight, and Zebedee via CSI a while back and have updgraded each app a couple times. I've never had problems with CSI until my recent reconfiguration of my network.

I wanted to setup my network so I could access the webinterfaces of each of the applications outside my network, but for whatever reason the firewall on my AT&T U-Verse simply would not work and their tech-support insisted that my setup was too advanced for them and I would have to pay someone to help me figure it out. I decided to try to resolve the problem myself by feeding all traffic through their modem/router combo into my router (then out to my devices). Upon configuring my setup with both routers, I had a good bit of trouble with the U-verse router knowing that there was a second router and being unhappy with that. It was to point at which I couldn't even surf webpages - the router would intercept the request and present me a page telling me to remove the second router. After many attempts at trying to force the traffic through the second router, I decided to go back to the original setup that worked internally and try a different path to resolve the original issue (the failure of the modem/router combo's firewall)

While I normally wouldn't mention the above details of my router, I went looking for clues in the Apps folder and noticed some odd things that might be related.

Specifically, in the appinit.cgi file within Apps\AppInit\ I noticed that the content of the file appears to have been completely replaced with the HTML of the warning page that the U-verse router would prompt me with when I had the second router installed. I don't have a working original copy of this file, so I'm not sure what content it originally contained but I assume it is somehow dynamically populated by a request... The version_online file also has this same content.

The webinterfaces for all the Lordy items are still working:
zebedee, oversight, and feedtime

On the other hand, the interface for nzbget does not work and gives me the following error:
Quote:Not Found
The requested URL /NZBget_web was not found on this server.

Apache/1.3.33 Server at 127.0.0.1 Port 9999

I looked at the httpd.conf file and noticed that it does still have the following references:
Code:
Port 9999
Listen 9999
<VirtualHost *:9999>
    ScriptAlias /php/ /mnt/syb8634/server/
    AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php
    Action application/x-httpd-php5 /php/php5-cgi
    DocumentRoot /share/Apps/AppInit/websites
    DirectoryIndex index.php index.cgi index.html
    ServerName 127.0.0.1
</VirtualHost>

<Directory /share/Apps/AppInit/websites>
    Options +ExecCGI
    AllowOverride All
    AddHandler cgi-script .cgi
</Directory>

While I'm not 100% sure how these work, I noticed that there was a reference to the websites folder, but that folder is empty.

Without knowing much about how CSI works, this is about as far as I got in trying to figure out what's going on. Please let me know if there is any other additional information I can provide and/or how I can get the installed tab working again.

I remember reading somewhere about the appinfo.json files being used with CSI and I checked those for all the applications and they appear to have normal content. See below for the content of the NZBget appinfo.json:
Code:
{
    appinfo_format="1",
    name="NZBget",
    version="0.7.0.342",
    enabled="1",
    daemon_script="daemon.sh",
    webui_path="#PATH#/webui",
    setup_script="setup.sh"
}

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.1.5 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
Thanks for the elaborate report.

Please delete the Apps/AppInit folder and install an application, that will install appinit again. Appinit is very important for the CSI and NMT's applications.

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.1.5 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
Looks like that got me up and running. I installed feedtime via CSI on top of the old version then all the apps showed up in the installed tab. The rest of the Apps were showing not running, even though I could access all the Lordy Apps from their web interface. I manually started them all with CSI and it then showed duplicates of each of the manually started items. Closing CSI and re-opening it cleared up the double-copy quirk, but NZBGet was still having trouble. A simple reboot of the NMT got everything back to normal though.

Thanks for the quick response!

Yeah, your NMT was in an undefined state.
I should have mentioned that you needed to restart the NMT.
Welcome back to CSI Smile

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.1.5 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
Hi GT Wink

I am attempting to put together a CSI package for the PHP-based app I am working on, but am slowly going mental trying to figure out why I cannot install a simple test "app" from a zip file...

I am developing on Windows (Vista x64) and using the following tools to create the package:

- Notepad++ for text editing (allows saving as Unix format)
- 7zip for creating tar and zip

The package file follows the prescribed structure:

Code:
foo.zip
  |-- foo.tar
           |-- appinfo.json
           |-- index.php

The contents of appinfo.json...
Code:
{
    appinfo_format="1",
    name="foo",
    version="0.1",
    enabled="1",
    gayaui_path="#PATH#",
    webui_path="#PATH#"
}

And the result I get when attempting to install from file via CSI is:
Code:
Application Initializer version 1.11
---------------------------------------
Checking for new version: up to date
Checking Application Initializer profile: Valid
Installing application from file /share/foo.tar: /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK/Apps/AppInit/appinit.cgi: line 1: cannot open /share/Apps//appinfo.json: no such file
Failed

Any idea what is cocking up? I did try including an install.html in the zip, but it made no difference.

I am going a little nutty, as it seems so simple, but I just can't make it work! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Adam

---- EDIT ----
Sort of replying to myself here, but is it due to the tar file being broken somehow?... this is all I can come up with after reading through the app_init script file to understand what is going on...

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.1.5 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
Cheers again for your help Ger.

As it turns out, the NMT is quite picky about tar files, but I can confirm that IZArc (http://www.izarc.org) can successfully create tar files which the NMT tar tool will accept.

Now that I have my deployment issues sorted, I can get back to getting my app developed enough for a release Wink
