Ger Teunis, do you think we could find a way to also add NTFS-3G? I don't know what sort of code you execute on the NMTs, but maybe we can cook up a way to make it usable. Perhaps a "Remount NTFS read/write" and paired with "Remount NTFS read-only". Or I could write a remote-controller daemon to listen for "Eject" button, then unmount nicely.
Also, do you have a nice shiny icon to use? OsX ones are rather large too
