Sorry man, can't help everybody with their computer specific problems.
All I can say is that it works on my Mono 2.0.1 on Ubuntu 9.0.4 and that the correct libmono-winforms is running.

ps> could you do a

Perhaps the user config file is stored at a different location for your Mono.
