No problem, I've updated the documentation as you suggested.

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.1.5 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
I've got a problem with CSI and my HDX-1000.
When trying to install an application I get a 404 error. Installing a skin or webservice gives me no problems.

I already tried both hardware types in the settings.
My HDX has got full internet access, e.g. I am able to stream Youtube.
I removed the AppInit, although I must say that this file is not in a folder Apps, but in the root share. My HDX does not have a Apps folder. Don't know of this folder is hardcoded in repository apps.

Also tried installing "from file", but it will give me the same 404 error.

My HDX has got the latest firmware.
Also reinstalled CSI and rebooted my HDX a couple of times.

Any more ideas?

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.1.5 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
It seems you NMT cannot access internet directly. Could you verify this?
Currently the NMT needs to be connected to the internet for CSI to work.

The next version of CSI will solve that.

just to be sure, the file appinit.cgi on your NMT's hdd has a size of 0 bytes right?

What do you mean exactly with connected directly? Currently my HDX is connected directly by wire to my internet router (Online (First Orange and Wannadoo) Livebox)
And I can stream internet video's on my HDX, like Youtube and Uitzending Gemist.

And yes, the appinit.cgi is 0 bytes, but is in my root, instead of the Apps folder you mention everywhere.

The same for me as skaitlaister wrote. appinit.cgi has got some size, contains lines about xterm and location of telnet, i wanted to install the telnet, but no luck - 404 error. Skins installing perfectlly, telnet, transmission - 404 error. I already changed router, thought that may be itš routers fault, but NMT has got connected to the internet. I downgraded the firmware - 404 error. I did everythibg possible but no luck! Reinstalled everything, made deep clean setup, reformat HDD - 404 error.

@ShijtLijster (hoe kom je d'r op Big Grin)
I did not write that down very clear: what I meant is that NMT needs to be able to use your internet connection.
But it clearly does in your situation.

During install appinit will be downloaded first on the root of your NMT.
After that appinit.cgi will move itself to Apps/AppInit and install itself.

If you NMT is not able to download that file, the file will remain 0 bytes length.

Okay: i've made a small change on the server, could you check again?
1. Delete the file appinit.cgi from the nmt's hdd root
2. Restart NMT
3. Install an application

Could you postback your findings

You seem to have another problem.
Could you post the contents of appinit.cgi (not start_app.sh!) here?

Now i made the same procedures as i wrote above, i try install telnet on a clean NMT, with latest firmware, no mods were made before installation. Now appinit.cgi contains nothing, size is zero! And no Apps folder in /share. NMT connected to internet, i can connect to my NMT box via FTP from another public network.

Are you able to open this link on your computer?
http://repository.nmtinstaller.com/appinit.cgi

What NMT do you have and what type?
What hardware have you configured in CSI?

Okay, what are the contents of the nmt's hdd? Root only please and could you tell if they are non 0 size?

Ps> you did try a restart and cleaning out the files in the root before trying again?

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.1.5 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
For some reason your NMT isn't able to download appinit correctly.
Please start telnet from an usb stick / pen drive using these instructions:
http://lundman.net/wiki/index.php/NMT:te..._USB_stick

Then open telnet to the box and execute:
Code:
cd /share
wget -T 30 -q -O /share/appinit.cgi http://repository.nmtinstaller.com/appinit.cgi

What is the output of that?

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.1.5 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
This is very weird!
Just tried a clean install here, it's not CSI or the server what is causing this.
Nonetheless I am interested what might be wrong here.

What is the result of
Code:
ls -al /share

Please re-download CSI and extract it in a new folder on your desktop and try installing something else?
