RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.0 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
Nope, CSI used internet to download the to-be installed applications.
For the installation itself it doesn't need an internet connect, just a network connection. Installing via USB isn't an option; sorry. Easy way of installing software on your NMT using just your mouse: NMT Community Software Installer |

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.0 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
Hi there,
I'm developer of KartinaTV plugin - http://code.google.com/p/pch-kartinatv/ - client of russian IP TV on PCH. I've recently seen the CSI and found that it's really good and easy to use. For a user. I want to use the CSI to install my plugin but I'm really confused. In the example here - http://docs.google.com/View?docID=dch893...on=_latest - there is a huge appinit.cgi script included in distribution. I just CAN'T believe that in order to install my small application I have to understand and edit this script. When all I need is to unzip my plugin somewhere (normally /share/kartina.tv but can be also /share/AppInfo/whatever) and to set a link on local web service. It would be also nice to chmod my settings file and to write authentication info there, but it's not required. Could somebody please give me a hand here or give a small plain example of already working installation? Imagine that you have a single php file, with single call to phpinfo() and nothing else. How would you install it? webui and gayaui are both provided and the same and pointing to this file in this case, no daemon/cron entry is required. The RepositoryInfo.xml file and the appinfo.json I suppose I will be able to write by myself. Thanks in advance! Regards, consros |

(12-07-2009 12:00 AM)consros Wrote: Hi there, It's not required for you to distribute the appinit. AppInit is part of CSI, which will integrate CSI onto your NMT. No need for you to start tinkering into that file. Distributing that file is just an option if you want to offer your users a non-csi way of installing so in your case not required. Creating a package is a matter of a few simple steps I've send you a PM so we can whip up a package for your application in no time. It's not hard. RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.0 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
I'm a little bit confused how to use this. I can connect mine NMT to internet, but not the same time to the TV then. If I connect the NMT to the network only can I still install stuff on the NMT? Or do I still need to some things on the NMT to install some apps? I only want to install "StopActiveHDDStandby 0.1"

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.0 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
Just wondering...did the latest firmware break the CSI? For the life of me I can no longer get it to install anything. I'm getting the 404 not found error even when I have things configured correctly and I've been able to connect with my windows FTP client. I've removed the appinit folder. Ideas?

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.0 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
(oops: haven't installed the latest beta 2 yet! will report back later today)
Right, updated to latest NMT beta, and so far it seems to work fine on my OSX! Quirks: llink 2.2.3.99 keeps wanting to be updated, so I believe there is an individual package configuration error but I can't put my finger on what's wrong. Once installed it still reports "State: Installed, v2.2.2, started". This issue has been reported by another issue in another thread, and also applies for previous CSI version (not that I think that has anything to do with it). Wishes: When a new NMT fw is installed all CSI apps are put on halt and has to be manually started one by one in the CSI interface "Installed" tab. Maybe I have missed something obvious, but I can't seem to find a way to mark all and press "Start". Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

RE: [CSI] Community Software Installer 2.6.0 (Win/Linux/OSX/Web/NMT)
Looking in more detail, after a CSI restart the llink 2.2.3.99 is not installed anymore, while 2.2.2 remains. However:
# ./llink -v 8 ./llink - Jorgen Lundman v2.2.3 lundman@shinken.interq.or.jp build 1651 (Sat Nov 28 14:13:24 2009) (libdvdnav). So it seems we have a package config issue. Oh, and the CSI "About" still reports 2.6.1 beta as 2.6.0.0, I guess that's secondary right now

Or a reboot will do the trick. After reinstalling the nmt apps CSI will need to integrate itself again and that is why it was not able to start the nmt apps on first boot after installing the clean nmt apps. Bot a bug, just side effect of installing clean nmt apps from scratch. Llink issue: you might want to check the appinfo.json of llink, I expect the version is still the old version in there. Otherwise the 2.6.1 will offer to downgrade to 2.6.0. I'll bump to 2.6.1 whenever it is considered final. (12-13-2009 04:36 PM)kruuth Wrote: No luck. i'm still having the error. Please read the FAQ of the first post. Important: all beta testers should use the beta version of CSI as well This version supports the new beta firmware. Correct, the llink I have is updated (v2.2.3) but: Code: # cat /share/Apps/LLink/appinfo.jsonThe version should be ="2.2.3.99", right? Would you like me to notify lundman?
