Wiki Opinion

Over the past week, I've made some major changes to the wiki to bring it to a more usable state. This is, however, ongoing work.

I am now at the point where the main page is no longer an FAQ. This has been separated out into various other pages, of which some need a lot of attention.

The wiki should cover not only the basic setup instructions, but also more advanced topics like MSP plugin writing and Video Encoding instructions.

So, I'd like opinions on the state of the wiki and some community feedback on where it should go. For example, I'm having difficulties breaking the information down into realistic categories.

Anyway, I hope you like the wiki. Please, please, please add more content to it because there is much to do. If you know how to do something, consider posting an article on the wiki and linking to it in the forum, rather than posting directly to the forum.

I think the new revised WIKI is coming on a treat.

The use of colour really helps to make viewing the WIKI less of a strain on the eyes. It just looks professional now rather than the list of random points that we had previously.

The amount of work that you have put into the changes is phenominal.

ALL of the information that was previously on the WIKI is now contained within the 44 pages of the WIKI:-

Hopefully now that there are pages that are manageable in size we can all contrivute and improve things even more.

I have had some of you PM me at varous times offering to help with producing material for fellow members. Now is your time. Get involved, PM Rioch, im sure he would welcome you onboard and help if your WIKI editing knowledge is as bad as mine.

We have some excellent user apps, videojukebox, etc all of which can now have their own page on the WIKI. Photo's, screenshots, guides all can go on there.

It is our WIKI lets make it damn good. I'll spend a couple of hours on the weekend doing my part please all of you join in and help out.

That's a huge improvement, I'll definitely be looking out for things I could add in. Before when it was one loooong page it was just too daunting to consider.

There are probably quite a few threads in this forum that could do with either being added into the Wiki or linked from the Wiki, the hard drive compatibility one springs to mind.

Just to show you how simple it is.

This entry needs work, but, it's in a better place now. Someone will need to traul through that massive thread and pick out all the additions, however.
