RE: Next Firmware Release
Sadly it does not mention any dates does it, so dont act like im some retard and your like know it all. I read that thread mate and the reason some many pointless threads are being made is because it contains no information except what is being tested, no info on how the process works or anything. So no point trying to act like a big shot .

RE: Next Firmware Release
Obviously, you are not very familiar with the beta process... It's impossible for them to provide a release date for the final firmware because they don't know how many bugs will be found in the beta or how long it will take to fix those bugs!

Even Syabas cannot see into the future! You just have to be patient... When the firmware is ready for release, you will know it!

I (and many others) would prefer the beta versions be open to the public, like many other companies do, but we haven't really got Syabas to budge on that one! It's a shame, because it really would help to identify any new bugs in the beta firmware (and in turn, get them resolved BEFORE the final version is released). But, Syabas DOES release new firmware versions more frequently that any other company that I know!

RE: Next Firmware Release
Yes I admit im not familiar with syabas and the beta process with the company, thats what I needed guidence on, as Im new to the device but does not mean I cant contribute just hate it when people asume one is a idiot and cant read just because he/she is new to the device. I only asked because I wanted see how the process works as its not written anywhere and no I did not search but assumed the sticky will help but it has not. Of course beta releases will be better for users to test, tvix allows beta software to be tested by users. Also many users are getting HDMI problems with there TV sets I dont see this anywhere in the beta testing!! can someone explain this to me? Thanks

RE: Next Firmware Release
so first cool down!!
Willem doesnt say that you are damn or something, he only routes you to the Beta Changelog Thread, there you can see that we are already on RC1, which means normaly that it doesnt take very long to an final release, but i cant give you an Date, because first the known bugs right now only 2 anymore needs to get fixed, as long as they dont get fixed i wont release it, thats it.
So the only Date i can give you is soon or when it is done!

Regards,
Werner

RE: Next Firmware Release
Further reading on the beta team can be found here:-
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...p?tid=6535

We annually open the doors to the beta team and invite those that wish to take part to apply.

I can see the reason why it may have come across as a little bit unfriendly earlier on. I certainly would not want you to think that we arent a friendly or approachable bunch here as I like to think we are.

Welcome to the forum you will get out of it as much as you put in, there are some gems from users to enhance your NMT experience.

RE: Next Firmware Release
It'd certainly make sense to make the beta program open publicly, as there are clearly tons of bugs slipping through. Also getting early access to firmware which might fix the bugs that plague the current firmware might go someway to placating those affected.

Well sorry if I made you angry, basically I was saying read first then ask others to type it out for you, so after you made a decent effort to find the info yourself..... and this one was to easy Cool

remember all the moderators are NMT users just like you who are willing to spend time to help other users out with there problems.

RE: Next Firmware Release
Public betas can always be a double edged sword, on the one hand, you get more bugs reported as there are more users testing, but on the other hand, you get more people reporting the same bug over and over (because people don't check if it has already been reported), and the developer team spends half its time reading through duplicate bug reports / bug reports that aren't even bugs, and doesn't have any time left to fix the bugs! I speak from experience!

RE: Next Firmware Release
Mm Maybe the bugs section can be sub devided into software bugs, hardware bugs, network bugs, etc so it dont become one big mess. Im sure further options could be considered and tested.
