don't understand basic concepts
Actually, although I have this working, there are a few basic concepts that I am still not clear on: MoC has an export function and so does My Lil Movie Jukebox Script. Do both have to be run consecutively? Is there a quick way to run MLMJ script? For my 300 movies it spoils 2 hours if I answer yes to all the questions on the script. Is there a way to run the image enhancers for just the updated or new movies?

CPU 3.4 GHZ P4 running XP Pro SP3, Wired Home Network, A-110 PCH, Firmware updated, 500 GB Int HDD, using SMB shares, MoC Rev. 6.0 rev3, MLMJ Export Script 082508.exe, Samsung 50" Plasma, Denon AVR-1708,

You do not need to separately run any export using the MoC functions. The MLMJ export script does all of that for you. So you only need to get MoC set up properly and then use the export script executable file to create the PCH jukebox pages.

In the recent versions of the MLMJ export script Allen has added a "Quick Export" function. This bypasses some of the more time consuming pieces of the process.

I have over 350 movies in my collection and my script run typically takes less than 5 or 10 minutes. Here are some of the key variables to watch out for:

1. Actors export - this is the most time consuming of all the parts of the script as it cycles through creating pages for up to 400 actors. I only run this part of the script occasionally - and only after adding lots of movies to my collection. For most exports I set "Perform Actor Export?" and "Copy Actors Support Folder?" to NO so this step is not performed.

2. Irfanview and Imagemajick - I generally keep these variables set to YES as these are used to modify the cover art on the index and detail pages. These can take quite a long time if you have added lots of movies, but they will bypass any images that they have already modified - and only spend time on new images. If you have only added a couple of movies since the last time you ran these routines - they take very little time.

3. After you have run the export script the first time, you can set the "Copy Resources Folder" setting to NO. This skips this step although it onlyl saves a few seconds of time.

4. Filters/Genres/TV Series/BoxSets - while these take some time, depending on the number that you use - they are an integral component of the indexing and navigation - so again I run these each time.

As I said I find my export takes me only 5 - 10 minutes - and I write my export files to the hard drive installed in my PCH over the network.

Hope this helps.
