Audio questions....
Hey guys,
I have been playing with my A-110 for 3 weeks now and I love it... No complains so far, well the internet speed seems a little bit slow to me... Anyways, I am very confused about DTS, AC3, AAC and WMApro and the way we configure them... I have a Samsung LN52A750 LCD TV connected to the A-110 using HDMI and a Bose AV28 Home Theater System in the optical. I sometimes want to use my TV and sometimes the Bose so in my configuration I have on HDMI audio yes and 5.1 I do not know what are the samsung and bose capabilities as far as sound goes, checked their website but hard for me to understand... Would somebody please help me to define the settings DTS, AC3, AAC and WMApro ? Or at least redirect me to a place like 101 for dummies... Thanks a lot |

RE: Audio questions....
If you are getting sound then you have the right settings.
Think of the two settings in this way:- Anaolgue PCM - asking the PCH to decode the sound Digital RAW - you are passing through the audio for your BOSE system to decode If you play a youtube video via MSP they have AAC audio generally, so if you have the AAC setting as Digital RAW and get audio via your BOSE system then its doing the decoding and giving you audio. If you play a youtube video and get no audio then change the setting to Anaolgue PCM. If when you play DTS and have the PCH set to Digital then the BOSE is decoding and giving your full DTS output. If you get nothing then having the PCH set to Anaolgue will give you stereo sound. The BOSE should be able to decode DTS to multichannel rather than just stereo and so you should be using Digital DTS RAW. I doubt it has DTS-HD decoding but if it has or gets it in a future upgrade then set to Digital DTS-HD RAW Set AC3 to Digital RAW Set WMA Pro to Digital RAW If you have a file and get no audio then scan it with Mediainfo to find out what type of audio you are dealing with. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |
