Go for both categories if you prefer, I have no preference. I'll add the links on the main page this weekend if I find time, though it's a busy one.

The mediawiki extension is called CategoryTree and is already installed. Give it a go to see what it looks like. Sadly it only produces a vertical list. Here's the code: Configuration

Right im going through categorising and finding that some categories are links to the category page and a couple are links to an actual article.
For example Jukebox.
There is a nice article on what a jukebox is and not a list of articles.
I think we should have those apps which are also jukeboxes, categorised as jukeboxes, so that a WIKI user can just press the Jukebox link on the front page and get the article and also the list of pages that have been categorised as jukebox. So they can see the pages and apps relevant only to jukeboxes.

I agree. Perhaps categories are really tags in our case, then? If you'd like a list of pages that are categorised/tagged as jukebox, the CategoryTree plugin could be useful, although the layout I'm not so sure of). I'll shove it on there any you can take a look.

Sorted it out now. Ive also tidied up the front page so that the categories tie in with those discussed earlier.

I've dropped 'Software' from the Getting Started section as I can remember only categorising one article as software. I'll have to try and find it.

No more categories without articles or duplicates.

Not saying that there are not some articles that could have further categories added as they may scan more than one category. If you find any please add the missing category.

Right then guys I think we need to get our Team together and split up the WIKI into Editorial chunks.

Anyone else wish to join in just lets us know. Dont worry about technical ability if I can manage it anyone can.

If you notice, the main page has also lost it's Main Page heading Thanks to werner for sorting that out for me.

So, now we just need to get writing and tidy up what we already have.

Yep, I added a myihome page as I thought it's absence was obvious.

My next plan is to sort out the "hack" page. Whether hack is the right name, I don't know, but I personally wanna write some apps (as in, executables that run on the NMT) and that page has (some) information. Just need time.

Anything that was previously categorised as Functions is now in Installation, as are things like NMT apps.

Thinking of getting rid of NMT as a category? The one article is already in other Categories including About.

Webservices and Streaming need either a new category or just putting in Networking for Streaming and Installation for Web Services. We could do with a Category to cover streaming and web services etc.

Things like Skin Manger redirecting to Skin Manager. I think we need to just get rid of the likes of Skin Manger. God knows how though?? It will be dead easy but ive tried.

Is it acceptable to get content for the wiki from the forum posts?

The re-directs are for both good and bad, they should be there to facilitate quick search and navigation.

If I type/search for Skin manger (a typo) I will still end up on the correct page.

I'm sure there is some policy for re-directs on most mature wiki's like Wikipedia. Hmm, time to google.

Yes it is acceptable to get content from forum posts, you should always credit the writer though. You can do that via referencing I believe.

Please feel free to take care of the about section and if you are unsure as to anything please ask. The WIKI also has talk facilities although i'm just learning presently

This weekend would be a good time to draw a line and try to get together our editorial team, so please everyone if you feel you have some time to give and would like to get involved on the WIKI now is the time to speak up. No knowledge of WIKI is needed.
