What's the job description for an Editor? Smile

Detailed information about firmware should be in firmware, detailed information about a product on that product's page; if the information is related, they can link to it.

I can argue that you are probably interested in the firmware for a single product or two. Also, the global Firmware page will have in time the same fate: bloat to death Smile. So what I'm advocating for is having separate firmware pages for each product. Instead of 1 huge page, you have a few smaller pages. If they grow too big, we may also keep only the ones for the last year or so.

Yes, that's the usual split between user vs reference documentation. But we can do both.

Perhaps status isn't required, but there is nothing to say we need to replace it (other than a nice gap on the page). Since people will frequent the wiki for support, perhaps we could just make this section span the entire width of that area, and fit more useful information in there?

Why do you see it as limiting?

As I see it, the product page should be the entry point to all the info about that particular device. That's why I suggested having a front page category for it. To extreme, if a product page grows too much, it may be changed to contain only links to other more specific pages (e.g. A110-firmware, A110-hardware, etc).

As far as I can see it, the wiki is now popcornhour-centric, due to historic reasons. Don't you think we should somehow separate the generic NMT info from the specific product implementation?

Regards,
Vasile
