RE: Different Potential Issues Western Digital Green & Seagate 1TB
If my Torrent client is constantly working (leeching/seeding) and have scratching sound all the time because of HDD activity (reading/writing) do I still have problem with here mentioned "park/unpark" problem which wears out my HDD?
I have WD10EACS. Also noticed that in the last firmware there is "Fixed HDD spin-up during standby". I understand it is connected with Stand-by state but perhaps this is also connected with PCH Linux OS which wants to constantly wake up HDD and do the so called harmful "park/unpark" action? |

I installed S.M.A.R.T. with the CSI, but I don't know how to give the command to get the info...like cycle, life etc.

Thanks Peppin.
I have a WD10EACS-22D6B0 with nearly 3984 Power_on_Hours with a Load_cycle_count of 1552. So I guess it's running alright on my HDX 1000. |

They are meant for 2.5" notebook drives. it seems that wdidle3.exe is for 2.5" notebook disks. However, some have used wdidle3.exe with the western digital green power drives http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...#pid139938 (02-05-2009 08:37 PM)Gravityz Wrote: so if there is something going on with rapid load/unload i lowered the value by a factor 3 I have a WD10EADS and I am keen to use wdidle3.exe to disable the intellipark.
