Swedish letters not visible - how to fix?
Hi,
I have ripped moves with swedish letter. Use FTP and place them on the HDD which is inside Popcorn Hour. When I browse the list of files.. And when displaying the filename, the letters show up like "icons" or "_" or "?". And when I try to use rsync from my linux box to backup everything that is on the Popcorn Hour hdd, it copies all files and complains when it tries to copy the filenames with swedish letters... Is the Popcorn Hour set to UTF-8 or what is the language used ? |

RE: Swedish letters not visible - how to fix?
For what it's worth; I just tried to upload a bogus "å_ä_ö.txt" file via Bash/Terminal (Mac OSX) and that didn't work.
But when I transferred it via smb it was fine. Checking back with ftp via Terminal the file got listed properly as "å_ä_ö.txt". Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

RE: Swedish letters not visible - how to fix?
Thanx for pointing that out...
![]() I found that the FlashFXP I use to transfer files where set to Character Encoding: Auto I switch this to UTF-8, and now the swedish letters are displayed on the Popcorn Hour (as they never have before) and also I'm able to use rsync as intended.
