Set Date and Time on NMT
Hi,
My clock is set to the right time but unfortunately of a different timezone and no matter what I do I dont seem to be able to sync it to the correct time even using the NTP option. Is there any other way to manually set it right? Well, I found teh solution myself. Using the Date command in this format: date -%T -s "HH:MM:SS" |

RE: Set Date and Time on NMT
Jerome; you have to enable telnet and do this command from shell.
Note that the little smiley is not part of the command :) That's: date -%T -s "HH:MM:SS" Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

RE: Set Date and Time on NMT
I think you can see the time by pressing the Title button (or some other button in the same section of the remote control) during playback of non-DVD movies, or while in the menu. But it will not display the date.

RE: Set Date and Time on NMT
Dear PCH Team,
is it true I have to program in order to set the date and time for the PCH? Perhaps someone can help me here? My torrent shedule does not seem to work due to an incorrect time. But I do not know what telnet is or how to enable it on the a-110. I am not very technical however thankfully managed to set up my popccorn hour alright (after the initial fight with all the synonyms) Thanks for your help Quote:Jerome; you have to enable telnet and do this command from shell. |

RE: Set Date and Time on NMT
I have managed to do it. If anyone else is looking to do it and does not know the terminology. I have made a screenshot. The PC and the PopCorn Hour where in the same Network and the Popcorn Hour was set as my Z drive.
On my XP machine I clicked start run and entered cmd Then I did the following (see screenshot) |

RE: Set Date and Time on NMT
ouch thanks for that / in fact I did.... (i thought if i choose the z drive it should work / but was wrong) o.k. so it seems I am totally lost. If someone can please explain in a very simple way without using too complicated language how to set the time on the popcorn hour it would be very much apreciated.thanks a lot Update: I had entered this in to the cmd field first but it gave me an error: date -%T -s "HH:MM S" - I do not know what Telnet is or how to activate it

RE: Set Date and Time on NMT
(03-03-2009 01:12 PM)vkboard Wrote: vkboard, Telnet is an application used to execute commands on an other system. Telnet is based on TCP/IP so you need a networkconnection to the PCH. There are 2 options: 1.) Wired. 2.) Wireless. For option 1.)-Wired you have to connect a UTP cable to the ethernetport of the PCH and your home network. For option 2.)-Wireles you have to buy a certified Wireless USB dongle (see Popcorn Hour site). After that configure your PCH with DHCP (see first paragraph how to setup network connection http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...iguration) Once you established a network connection you can telnet to the IP address of the PCH and execute the "Date"-command (see http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...p?tid=7339 for other telnet commands). |

RE: Set Date and Time on NMT
thanks a lot for your help. I really apreciate it.
![]() I have established a connection with my pch. I use it to transfer files via wlan from my computers to the pch. If I understood correctly I also need to install enable telnet on the PCH (as ound in the lundman wiki) Quote:<br /> Once I have more time I will try and go through all the steps in the lundman wiki. ![]() In the meantime a request to to Syabas: Please add a simple way of changing the date in the pch. I am not a developer I am a enduser (there are more of me out there). I need to change the date and time because of the torrent scheduler and I guess there are more ppl just like me wanting to change the time. Thanks Ps: I love this little piece to bits but don't feel I can recommend it to anyone due to the complexity (03-03-2009 05:31 PM)mSoft Wrote: vkboard, |
