I just realized that this has to do with the the write privileges; I thought that it wouldn't because from my laptop I can access and read/write to the nas with no problem, but my mac accesses the mac router directly. The nmt has to log in, and I had just logged in a guest, which doesn't give write privileges. I had forgotten. So, forget my issue with the nfo writing....sorry!
