My Lil Movie Jukebox - Hardware setup question.
Please help a novice with video linking.
I have been able to successfully publish the index file to PCH A110 and am able to browse the selection of video/movie icons on the device; however, I cannot seem to link to a movie that is stored on my remote server – unRAID. I can link and play local movies stored on the PCH, but not remotely. The PLAY button is not accessible. Here are my “location variables: PC: Z:\video\ NMT: file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK/Video/ PC: M:\Movies\ NMT: file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/192.168.1.130:movies/ My system: Windows XP SP3 Wired connection PCH A110 with latest shipped firmware 500GB WD HD NAS: unRAID Pro 4.3.3 MLJB 6 Movie Collector 5.6 Pro Locator info: file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK/ file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/USB_DRIVE_A-1/ file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/192.168.1.130:movies/ I am able to play ALL movies stored on the SMB. |

RE: My Lil Movie Jukebox - Hardware setup question.

Although I was initially able to play all content from my server by going through the PCH’s native menu, I had to set up the network share in it manually. After I changed the Network group to mach that of my home, I was able to browse to that location without actually typing out the location in PCH. Once that was possible I just used the “Locator” and the following was entered in to the dialog box: PC: Z:\video\ NMT: file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK/Video/ PC: M:\ NMT: file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/TOWER/ However, I do have a question. I was playing with the “Location Variables” for some time and noticed that if I changed something in it to reflect a different location on my server and the re-exported the movies or “Quick update”, the html file associated with a particular existing movie did not change. If I added a new movie in MoC then the correct link was present in the html file located on the PCH in the “Details” folder. So, for the existing movie I had to manually fix the link. Here are examples of a correct links once I was able to figure it out: a class="playlabel" href="file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/TOWER/A Good Year/A Good Year.mkv" name="Play1" type="video/mpegurl" vod=""> a class="playlabel" href="file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/TOWER/Wanted/Wanted.mkv" name="Play1" type="video/mpegurl" vod=""> So, a good learning experience. Now, no try to figure out why I do not have the fancy art work in the folder once I click on the movie and before I click on the PLAY button. In fact, there is no image of the movie there at all. Again, thanks for a great product. A little learning curve, but that is good! |

RE: My Lil Movie Jukebox - Hardware setup question.
When you do a QUICK UPDATE, ..... the export program automatically sets the "Overwrite existing Details and Images" (in the Detail Tab) to "NO" ... which, when the export is done ..... IF the Movie Detail html file is present, it will NOT get overwritten, ... so, just remember, when you make changes to "existing movies", then you must select YES to "Overwrite Existing Details and Images".
Don't forget to donate if you have EXTRA money laying around and don't know what to do with it!

RE: My Lil Movie Jukebox - Hardware setup question.
Allen,
Thanks for the help. I have set the “Overwrite Existing Images/Details?” to YES. The correct image is displayed on the index page, but no artwork is displayed on the movie page. My other settings are: General page: ImageMagic – YES and the correct Prog. Loc is picked: C:\Program Files\ImageMagick-6.4.9-Q16 On the Detail Settings page: Movie Covers File Ext. is set to "png". I have tried "YES/NO" for Update only? for the actor settings. On the PCH, in the images folder, I only have .jpg files for my movie, and the corresponding .pdg is a small file (2 kb) – white image. Any thoughts? By the way, do you take Paypal? |

RE: My Lil Movie Jukebox - Hardware setup question.
Movie Covers NOT being displayed, .... means that Imagemagick is not running, yet you have "png" selected in the setails tab of the export program.
Select No for Irfanview, and Imagick onthe General tab, then Click on Details tak, and make certain that the "file type" for covers is set to "jpg" go to my webpage and you should see the paypal buttons all over the place. Allen, I did that and now I have a large image in the correct place: img src="../images/237f.jpg" height="500" align="left" So, how do I now change that to a “nice” .png? Thanks, Lev |

I liked the fancy ImageMagick covers in the beginning, ... but changed bak to just jpg, ... because with jpg, you'll display a larger cover.
Irfanview is worth looking into though, .. because it makes the images look better. Take Care Allen HD Videos of my jukebox: Eversion, evZap, w/ My Overlays Part#1,Part#2,Part#3,Part#4 Cast/Crew Filmography |
