Subtitles - AVI + SRT = Not working! ASCII, Naming - All fine
Okay - I'm frustrated. I have a simple AVI file with the following settings:
General Format : AVI Format/Info : Audio Video Interleave File size : 697 MiB Duration : 1h 26mn Overall bit rate : 1 124 Kbps Writing application : VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.2 (build 2540/release) Writing library : VirtualDubMod build 2540/release Video Format : MPEG-4 Visual Format profile : Streaming Video@L1 Format settings, BVOP : Yes Format settings, QPel : No Format settings, GMC : No warppoints Format settings, Matrix : Default Muxing mode : Packed bitstream Codec ID : XVID Codec ID/Hint : XviD Duration : 1h 26mn Bit rate : 984 Kbps Width : 640 pixels Height : 352 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16/9 Frame rate : 25.000 fps Resolution : 24 bits Colorimetry : 4:2:0 Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.175 Stream size : 610 MiB (88%) Writing library : XviD 1.1.0 (UTC 2005-11-22) Audio Format : MPEG Audio Format version : Version 1 Format profile : Layer 3 Codec ID : 55 Codec ID/Hint : MP3 Duration : 1h 26mn Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 128 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Resolution : 16 bits Stream size : 79.0 MiB (11%) Alignment : Aligned on interleaves Interleave, duration : 24 ms (0.60 video frame) Interleave, preload duration : 482 ms Writing library : LAME3.90. Encoding settings : ABR and a simple subtitle file with the same EXACT name .srt, no caps, nothing. Here's the SRT file. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=79EXDLL8 I'm flummoxed. It works fine playing on my PC with VLC, and ... grr. It just works. I don't get a subtitle file name when choosing Subtitle:On - so I really don't know what's happening. I DO know that I wasted an hour trying to figure this out! Any help would be appreciated. |

Did you open the srt file in a text editor? This what you see:
Code: {4525}{4594}They stand there, barking.|26 dogs.Above is not srt format. Looks like you have a subtitle, but it reference frames instead of time, NMT does not know how to handle it. Load your sub into subtitle workshop and convert it to submux srt format. This is what a proper srt format looks like: Quote:1 Hope that helps. |

Actually the popcorn hour should be able to handle that subtitle too, it looks like a MicroDVD subtitle file which should have the extension .sub.
So if you rename it moviename.sub that might be all you need to do. Media tank:A-100 & C-200 TV:Panasonic TH-50PY800MT (HDMI) Audio:Logitech Z-5500 (Coaxial) |
