Dear all,
To access my IDE Harddisk (in a A-100 Device) over the network I formated the Harddisk as discribed in a manual, without realizing that now i can't access all my data on the disk that was installed in a win xp desktop before. Is there any way to recover those files? (mainly Pics, Video, MP3 and Docs) - I saved my last 15 Years on that Disk. Thanks for your help. Olaf |

A normal format doesn't remove the files, just the "map" of where the files are. Recovery software can scan the disk and recover the files to another disk. If you write any new data to the disk, it will be written over the parts of the disk where your file are, making your old files unrecoverable. Google for unformat and data recovery software (you shouldn't need to pay a fortune for a recovery service in this instance) Si. |

RE: Uuups! A-100 IDE Harddisk formated! How to recover the Data (NTFS)
Hi, first of all STOP using your HD, disconnect it, and do not try to do anything more with it, whilst looking for a solution.
To clarify your post: Do you mean you put your disk in the PCH A100 and selected - install NMT Applications ? And the NMT said it will delete ALL of your contents , and you said YES? How big is the HDD? (you may be able to dump it all to DVD if its as old as your post indicates) There may be ways to recover some of the data, if the documents are valuable you should probably seek the services of a data-recovery expert. It would be less effort to get data from various backups you may have made of important docs. In any case you have now learned the hard lesson of making backups for the future. Hardware can fail at any time. Especially if moving it around between devices. Oversight: Jukebox | FeedTime: Automatic nzbs |

Hi
Don't write anything on the formatted Harddisk. With GetDataBack I recovered a new partitioned and formatted disk for a friend. It works very good. It recovered the most of the pictures of his baby. http://www.runtime.org/index.html Dood luck MEC |
