Subtitle timing
Avi files with external subtitles play fine on my PC, but when using Popcorn Hour A110 the subtitle timing gets wrong by several minutes. This happens both playing over ethernet and from the installed internal HD. The adjustment can get the subtitles to show ok for a while but they will soon go off-timing, getting worse as the movie goes on. This is not happening with all avi-files. Is there something that I could check?

@kojo
No, this is an invalid problem. I always watch movies with external subtitles. Your subtitle file itself is culprit. Please sync on computer before watching on PCH.

RE: Subtitle timing
Not many subtitles have been out of sync, (maybe 2-3% only) and I have tested the subs that will get wrong timing on pc and there they play perfectly. I have re-adjusted and used both srt and sub, but some files just keep getting out of sync.

RE: Subtitle timing
Hello with Frans

srt files are made with a movie with certain frame rate ( fps )
When you look that movie with another frame rate the title doesn't fit any more.

When you E-mail me, i send you the program that can solve that.

I tried pch own adjuster but that fix is only temporary. Soon it goes out of sync again.

RE: Subtitle timing
Is PCH-A110 doing something to those movie files when playing them like speeding playback or something. I cant think of anything else what may cause those SUB files go out off sync. SUB files works perfectly on computer so i have no idea how to fix them even. Its really shame cause almost all my subtitle files are SUB and only few SRT.

RE: Subtitle timing
I am experiencing the same problem with all .sub files and must convert them to .srt
It seems like the A-110 doesn't properly read the framerate or something to correctly match it with the .sub timing (which works excellent on any PC and DVD player I tried).
That's VERY annoying and a very serious bug, any fix?

RE: Subtitle timing
I think that i know what the problem is:

1 Check the frame rate when you see the movie on PC
Use MpcStar player

Menu File
File Info…
By Stream you can see the frame rate e.g. 23,98fps

2 Measure the length of the movie on your PC
3 Measure the length of the movie on your A110

E-mail that data to me: F.G.Goosens@Gmail.com

I myself have no A110, but I have make an programme that convert the srt file to the proper form for your A110

Eventually A110 must solve the problem because that is an bug.

RE: Subtitle timing
1) One XViD I checked is 23,98 fps
2) That XViD length on PC is 00:43:07
3) The XViD length on A110 is 00:44:57

Yep, this explains the .sub out of synchronization problem.
Very serious bug in A110 indeed.

RE: Subtitle timing
23,98 is rounded, that is 23,976 ( standard )

I calculate the A110 is converting the fps to 24,628
It is probably 25 because that is an standard fps.

I will send my program where you can convert an srt file ( make on 23,976 ) to any chosen fps.
That new file, set it on your A110 ( The old file you can recall later, because the program remember it )

If you want to have that program, you have to E-mail me
The best way is to try the program.

Greetings,

Frans
