rtsp video stream problem

I know that rtsp is not fully supported but I still have read that people have good results with it. I am having some big troubles with it. I am trying to watch a paid tv service thru internet - they broadcast wm9 encoded media thru mms. I replace mms with rtsp and start the feed. And thats where i have different problems:

1. No way to see info of the feed by pressing info button, no way to pause or press anything on a remote except a stop button which will stop the feed.
2. Very often the feed starts without sound and only the video is shown. To fix this i need to stop it, play a regular video file on a hard drive, like divx or mkv movie, then stop that and start the feed again. In this case most of the time sound starts to work and works for quite some time even if i stop and start the feed multiple times
3. Sometimes, when i start the feed the screen just goes black and the box is not responsive anymore and the only way to fix this is to reboot the box.
4. And for last, the feed freezes every hour or so and there is no way to exit out from that screen that froze and i need to reboot the box.
