RE: ISO files play very sportatically on PCH A-110
My simplistic “solution” for not-readable (1080) iso’s:

After installing myiHome Server on my pc, I installed Daemon Tools (download.com).
With Daemon Tools I mount an iso from my PCH (or PC).
After sharing the virtual(s) drive in My Computer, I added the virtual drive in myiHome Server under Watch map.
Now I can find this drive under Media Source on the PCH and play the iso…

(Of course the pc must be on, so the PCH can read the virtual drive Tongue)

RE: ISO files play very sportatically on PCH A-110
Wow, this is AMAZING!! I haven't read the NMT in a couple months because I figured since it had taken so long to even get a response from the NMT people, that nothing would change in my (and MANY others) bug issue.

Sure enough, I started to look all over the A-110 board and there is a TON of ISO issues to date. Keep in mind, I posted this thread in March...it is October - still no fix for the problem!! AWESOME!!

The firmware that was released in June, which was the last one produced, actually caused MORE problems with ISO issues and people had to revert to a previous firmware. What a joke.

I have been asking in total for a year now (across many other threads, not just this one) for an ISO fix - still nothing. For the NMT people, it's not a stupid or obscene request, jump on the A-110 board and do a search for "ISO" - there are a TON of iso problems out there.

When will this problem be fixed? A year is a long time to wait - how long will you keep pushing this bug off?

I'd love to say that I'm happy I found this thread, but I'm not. I made the mistake of updating my firmware and now ISOs won't play....... that did before. With a couple dozen ISOs this SUCKS.

I sent a new request to Support - but it almost seems like the A110s are being abandoned in favor of their new devices.......... which seems INSANE to me..

I got good news for all of ya. Smile

The USD DKK ratio is 1:5 so you will get the idea.

I bought the unit for an extreem high price of 2200 DKK in denmark. I sold the unit for about 1700 DKK (tough loss, but at least now I don't have to look at the thing and be reminded of my greif.)

I now bought the very nice WD TV box! Big Grin

Ohh happy days. I chose the standard without lan interface, cause it cost 600 DKK whereas the lan unit cost 200 DKK more. The reason for this is that I wanted to test it and keep my cost low, should it have issues as well. And also, I just transfer the files I want to see, on a USB flashdrive. It does have a few things that annoys me, but having paid almost one fourth of the price of the PCH, It is worth it!

Now I just need to buy the WD TV LIVE also, and throw the standard in the bedroom.

Ps. The WD TV has one thing, that the PCH really lags.. SUPPORT! Smile

RE: ISO files play very sportatically on PCH A-110
I can confirm that I face the same ISO playback issues with my A100. To me it seems that they actually do play on the PCH but are simply just not displayed. You can see and actually hear the harddisk spinning)
I think it's more an output issue. It looks like some ISO's send a signal that is not being picked up by the TV (I use a HDMI cable).
Try the same ISO that does not play with a different non HDMI cable to your PC and see if that works. If it does, it has nothing to do with how the ISO has been created.

I apreciate the input, but it seems like you read only 1 or two posts.

When trying to play one of the images meantioned, the unit simply froze. And NO other images I tried after, even those who worked before, would play until a cold boot was performed.

Has there been any fix for this? I'm a convertor from XBMC. The iso played fine there, but I get a blank screen on PCH.

RE: ISO files play very sportatically on PCH A-110
Is it any surprise that the ISO bug isn't fixed yet? I think not.

For the record - it's close to 18 months now that I've asked for this fix.

Worst support ever. We all need to buy a different product and hope these clowns go out of business. That would be great - and fitting!!

RE: ISO files play very sportatically on PCH A-110
@Ravn: The unit does not freeze, but the hdmi output is gone. I can still play music. However, if I want to view something, I have to reboot.
As mentioned in an earlier post, iso's do work, but you have to set video to auto. Looks like a problem in the upscaling.
For me the "auto" setting is a good workaround. A bit annoying, but still, I can play iso's.

RE: ISO files play very sportatically on PCH A-110
I haven't been on the forum in a long time. Here I thought I was the only one with this issue. ISO playback has gotten worse every firmware update for me. The last FW rendered my PCH useless for ISO's. It plays maybe 1 out of 10 attempts (repeated attempts to play same ISO will sometimes work and sometimes fail). The PCH gets rebooted 3 or 4 times per use which is ridiculous. I also find the boot time for this device dismal. I'm flashing back to June hoping to limp along. In the next 30 days the PCH is going in the 'bin' and I'll go to XBMC or Boxxee like I have in my living room. I will not purchase another PCH product. My old Pentium D box running XBMC is rock solid and plays everything the PCH won't. Initially I was impressed by the PCH but for a set top box appliance to crash multiple times per use is not acceptable.

I also have the feeling that ISO playing is always a little worst on each update... I almost never have nothink working, but lots of slowdown (like a stop every 10-30 seconds).
