If that doesnt help and you want to keep nzbget running, You may want to just wrap nzbget in a script, then no need for a cron job.

while true ; done
nzbget.real -c config -D
sleep 10
done

However you wont be able to shut down now, so you need to differentiate between nzbget crashing vs clean exit. You may get this via the exit code. (if not maybe check existence of lock file?)
