[btpd] BTPD 0.15 - Lightweight and Fast Bittorrent

A lot of users still prefer the 'old' BTPD.
A newer version was released a while ago, so I though why not help those who still prefer BTPD and over them their favorite torrent client again.

Please use the CSI to install.

After installing forward tcp port 8881 to your NMT.
Browse to http://POPCORN_IP:9090 to open web interface.
Username/password: nmt/1234

For anybody not able to use CSI, use the following steps:

1. Download:
http://repository.nmtinstaller.com/Appli...s/btpd.zip
2. Extract to the root (top directory) of you HDD (using FTP or SMB)
3. Open telnet to your NMT
4. Type the following commands:

cd /share
chmod a+x installer.cgi
./installer.cgi

This should install btpd 0.15 fine for the non-CSI-ers.

Thanks for your work and effort. I was looking for it.
Btw I tried it but none of the the installation options seems to be working. CSI is giving following message.
"Application already set to start on boot, skipping
FAILED: At least have one of the following NMT applications running: Usenet client, Casgle client or Torrent
enable one of the above mentioned applications on your NMT first (Setup -> NMT Applications)
"
For manual installation, I copied files and changed the permissions but nothing happend.

is critical here: you have to enable Casgle or Usenet on your NMT before installing.
This will start a webserver on the NMT which will enable the web access.

when I upload a torrent it says "Invalid filename"

furthermore, do I have to input a download directory?

Yeah, that interface is not fine, but at least it works if you know how.
After selecting the torrent you need to give the download itself a name in the box below and then start.

The downloads will be stored in the Download directory.
Also: this is weird as well, when it finishes downloading you can access the download in Download/download/(weirdnumbers)/(files)

I've contacted the creator of btpd how I can disable that behavior, no response just yet.

At least it is downloading, we'll just have to pretty it up someday whenever we get any feedback from the developer.

Ps> I am still searching for a good php coder who is willing to finetune and beatify the web interface.

So the only option would be the btpd-webui.
If I am correct that only uses python alot. I am not sure net NMT has perl by default.

So can BPTD and Transmission 1.51 not run at the same time. I have both installed with Transmission still running fine and I am getting the following error with BPTD:

Torrent Service Message

Bittorrent service is not running


Edit:
Now i noticed that all the services (torrent upnp, etc), are stuck at starting.

If you, guys, want new interface here and now here it is

There you don't need to provide name for the torrent and it doesn't store it under /share/Downloads/download// with symlink from /share/Downloads/ but directly in /share/Downloads (I honestly don't know why it was so, I believe developer had reasons, but anyway it worked without it for me )

Plus interface is identical to Transmission 1.51 Gaya interface...I wrote up to this 2 hours ago and opened Gaya ot see what interface BTPD has there and SH** - it's the same web service that is used for Web-Interface, and I didn't know that, so it wasn't much adapted to TV screen....so I worked some more...and now it does. So what we have now is one interface working for Transmission 1.51 Gaya, BTPD Web and BTPD Gaya, holy moly

Yep no problem at all, they will be installed next to each other. You can even add another cTorrent client if you like.

Give it some time. They should all start. If not you could try to start from a "Clean" sled by uninstall everything and start over.
