new firmware release for 110 - issue
has anyone had any issues with the new firmware release that came out? I have had to reboot the unit a few times to get stability back and worse yet, I just lost "all" my videos!!!! Have no idea what happened. Just gone!!!
Please tell me this has happened to someone else and we know the issue. |

RE: new firmware release for 110 - issue
Seems you need support, or how do you relate this to development and applications on the NMT?

RE: new firmware release for 110 - issue
I'm more interested if anyone else has seen this. Support will do me little good since my stuff is gone now.
Seems with limited response, my situation is unique in some way. System was highly stable until this firmware upgrade. I do very little beyond loading and playing my movies on this so... |

RE: new firmware release for 110 - issue
You may want to elaborate on your issue:
- In what way are your videos "gone"? First off, I'm going to assume that you are talking about videos on an internal harddisk drive. So what HDD brand/model? How is it formatted? Can you access it with ftp/smb/nfs/USB/telnet? Have you checked it for corruption? Have you tried to unmount it, powercycle your NMT and re-insert it? Or even mount it on a PC and see if your files are still reachable? Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

RE: new firmware release for 110 - issue
Ok i probably could be clearer here ( i did just submit a support ticket so we'll see what happens there).
pch 110 - I have a 1 terebyte (think it is a seagate) drive internally that I have been loading my movies into. I have been using this since december no problem. I bit torrent movies from my laptop where I have networked to this drive. All my maintenance, aside from firmware updates, are remotely from my laptop meaning moving movies around and such. I usually torrent down to the video folder. watch them, them move them to one of two sub folders when i'm done (kids / not-kids). I also download music and these files don't belong in my video folder so i will drag and drop them to my network music folder. If i would have accidentally moved my video folder, i would have seen the move dialog and this would take a long time since I have around 300 gig of movies. first - since i updated the firmware last weekend, i have found movies i played before would not play and I got a message like "can't play". I found if i simply powered the pch off and back on, once it rebooted i could then play the movies. minor inconvenience. Then today, I was in the process of watching a movie, moving some songs off the PCH to another drive and noticed (during the playing of the movie) my video folder disappears!!! now that i'm summarizing this I'm wondering if this movie had a virus in it!!?? All I know is my stuff is definitely gone! checked everywhere, though again if it got moved i would have seen the process. hopefully this clears up the confusion |

RE: new firmware release for 110 - issue
By moving, do you typically use the mv command in telnet? Please describe.
So you still have a connection to the HDD, that's a good start. If I were in your shoes I'd install telnetd and enter to have a look around, but that's entirely at your own risk. It sounds to me that your entire Video/ folder got moved and/or got changed permissions (for any strange reason). Should look something like this in /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK : # ls -al drwxrwxrwx 2 nmt nmt 4096 Feb 26 21:09 Video (the date should be different) Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. RE: new firmware release for 110 - issue
I move/copy using windows explorer.
I thought about your last point and did a properties on the drive. It's back up to full capacity, so the videos are definitely gone. When i rebooted the system the video directory was recreated. It is what it is at this point. I'll just have to rebuild my database. This thread for me was about simply being aware. I have to believe it was a virus in the movie. |
