FAF; search and have a look around in the forum: the heat issue is not new. Some users experience hot temperatures with/without HDD, other's dont - even with HDD inside!

As far as I can tell, some have resolved their heat issues with various mods, such as simple fan mods, bigger heat sinks etc.

Thx... yeah, I should search before post. Well glad that it has been taken into consideration. Then my question is, why isn't the unit equipped with a larger heatsink before shipping, wouldn't increase the cost allot? That's not logical, or what?

I will definitely mod my unit.

There has been rumours about a green firmware that would shut down unnecessary components when in idle/stand by, but I guess that wouldn't help when watching movies.

As modding is very easy on the PH A-100 case you shouldn't have any trouble finding a quite little fan or two. Again, searching the forum you'll find nice pictures and detailed posts concerning cooling mods. I remember one that made a heatsink mod that looked sort of the top of a pineapple after it was bent to fit 8)

Replace the heatsink, that would be a good idea but how do you get the old one off ?

[PH] Due to green feature involves low level library and still corporate with Sigma on this activity.

after the upgrade external srt subtitles stopped working for mkv files, iso DVD movies still freezes several times during a playback over an external hd usb disk

Also stopped working are most of the songs from my collection of dts music. Songs with two channel pmc stopped working after the firmware upgrade. My reciever just doesn't recognize the source anymore, previously songs played fine.

fixed above bug, looks like i accidentally hit the volume up button when putting it back at 49 music plase fine

on the other hand I love the color buttons new functions

Just test MKV with embedded subtitles and srt file aside. The movie starts with srt file, which is fine.
After seek, subtitles are one of embedded. I can only cycle through embedded then ...

I have the same problem. 01-15-080123-14-POP-402 is OK

Before tis latest firmware, on 01-15-080123-14-POP-402 I hav not problem using WD myBook 1TB. But I have partitioned and re-formatted it into 2 (NTFS). There's no problem now even on 01-15-080223-14-POP-402.

The same problem with me. It's VERY annoying. Also after rewinding movie using left/right arrow I can only cycle through embedded subtitles...

if it is an mybook we on the german forum find out that this is an problem because WD makes 2 partitions!!! so just take an partition programm and delete all partitions and make one primary with NTFS and you wont have any Problems!!

I've excactly the same problem, almost half of my MKV's the sound doesn't play anymore. It lokes quiet random, some files that work have the same audio properties as a file that works. After playing a file that doesn't work, all ac3 audio looks locked (a file that worked, doesn't play audio anymore, but after a reboot it does)
I downgraded to the former firmware (01-15-080123-14-POP-402) and every thing works fine again....
