XBOX360 HDDVD Drive
As now HDDVD drive has slash it price to Sin$70, I was thinking of buying it as a DVD drive connect by USB for all my burn "720p" movies on DVD+R. Would that work on Popcorn hour?
Aside from this, how abt HD-DVD put into the drive, would i be able to play thru USB on Popcorn hour? Please advice! thanks! |

Will play burnt media but wont play retail. Different chipset required for retail, 8634 not 8635.

If its for retail discs then yes. If its for DVD+R discs you burn yourself then it will work but so will a standard DVD drive.

Original disks won't play, no license. (8634->8635 difference is macrovision).
Burnt disks will play Or find a hack, like fuse dvdfs for hd-dvd, maybe

The answer is above, it wont be supported as theres no macrovision/css support enabled on the 8635 chip. Firmware wont change that.
