nmt community software installer on osx
Hi,
I just downloaded and installed NCS from http://www.nmtinstaller.com/, I installed Mono Framework 2.4 but the application is very unstable and buggy. I can't install anything on my nmt (egreat M32B) because when I click on install button the NCS application freeze and I have to kill it. Someone have experience with osx and could give me some help? (Please don't tell my I have to set up a Windows box to use NCS )Thanks, G. |

RE: nmt community software installer on osx
CSI on Mono (thus linux and osx) may work but is sub-par in comparison to Microsoft .NET
I've done a great deal of bypassing Mono bugs to get it at least working for most people. Application installation should work okay, theme upload seems to fail on OSX (can anyone confirm!?). At least make sure you use the latest Mono 2.4 and the latest CSI, continuous improvements are made on CSI and Mono side. RE: nmt community software installer on osx
Thanks for your replies. I'm currently using last mono release 2.4_7 and last CSI version on an intel imac but, when I choose an application to install and press next CSI freeze and nothing is installed on NMT. Imac is currently wireless connected to my home network, can this be a problem?

RE: nmt community software installer on osx
I have Intel mac, and use latest. It is worth noting that when you click download, and it goes to download (Windows version show download progression bar) the OsX client with do "spinny thing of death" for about 10-15s, during the entire download, and then come back. If your net is slower, it will do the spinny thing for longer.

(05-31-2009 02:40 PM)gabric098 Wrote: Same configuration but doesn't work for me. Should make a difference, in perspective of CSI (and Mono) there is just an 'computer with an ip address' and I just send tcp packages that way and wait for an response. I do not think it is a wireless issue, but I am just guessing here. Easy way of installing software on your NMT using just your mouse: NMT Community Software Installer |

Could be a firewall issue mind you... but usually it lets you do connections out though.

RE: nmt community software installer on osx
Today I reinstalled mono 2.4 and latest version of CSI and now it's working. I don't know what was the problem in the last days.
Anyway, thanks for your replies. G. |

RE: nmt community software installer on osx
I was installing CSI but it asked to install first mono. Then I installed mono and now I run CSI installer. It says "Application can not be run from read-only volumes". Then I copied it to some folder and tried again. After that some mono icon is in the dock but it is saying "not responding". What now?

I think you should remove what you have installed now and re-install. But first, create a new folder (call it Apps or whatever) and then drag the CSI installation there - not to your default Applications folder. Let us know how it goes. RE: nmt community software installer on osx
Uh... you are on a Mac!? Just drag and drop to Trashbin. Or use AppZapper (http://www.appzapper.com/) if you feel uneasy about it.
Meanwhile, do the CSI installation to your own dir and see what gives. Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |
