Cross compiling a 'display' driver for A-110
Hello,
I have recently bought an external USB display (Pertelian X2040 Product Page), which I would like to use with my PCH A-110 to display some basic information about the currently played media as a start (but it can be used to display any kind of info from the net, eg. weather forecast, stocks, eBay etc.), so I do not have to use my TV to check what is currently played (mainly for audio and/radio). With some coding it might be also used as a very, very basic user interface for selecting/playing files. My problem, however, is I do not know how to cross compile the driver. I tried to build the toolchain on my Linux box, but no success. It would be great if someone with an already set up toolchain could compile the driver(s) provided on the Pertelian web site (Pertelian Pertd and Pertd2) and share the binaries with me, so I could test them on the PCH. Thanks in advance for any help. Gergely |

I will take a look at compiling this for you over the weekend.
Cheers. |

Both pertd and pertd2 are now available via CSI.
Let us know how you go. |

RE: Cross compiling a 'display' driver for A-110
Thanks a lot. I am currently strugilling with the PCH as it does not want to recognise the display. It should be an USB - Serial device and create a new ttyUSB4 in /dev, there are already ttyUSB0-3. The only thing I can see in dmesg is "usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using tangox-ohci-hcd and address 3"
Pertd2 seems to start (ok cannot find the device so it stops), but pertd complaines about not to be able to create a pid file in /tmp. It works on my normal Ubuntu server. |

You may only be able to run one at a time. If this is the case, I'll mod them so that they can both be running (but talking to different devices). Cheers. |

No, I tried to start them separately, not the same time. I canot even try to use them prallel as pertd2 exist immediately as it cannot find a valid device. I think pertd2 doesn't even use a pid file, but not sure about that.
But the main problem now, is how to make PCH to recognize the display ... RE: Cross compiling a 'display' driver for A-110
So, finally I found the device created for the display it is usbdev2.x. At every unplug and plug x will increase, my only hope is that after a reboot it is going to be the same
![]() But when I try to start pertd or pertd2 I got the very same error message: Start pertd(2): Unable to get terminal attributes. Strange. I will also try with lcd4linux if it will be re-compiled with their Pertelian driver. (06-17-2009 05:24 AM)Mr Segfault Wrote: Both pertd and pertd2 are now available via CSI. |

I compiled LCDproc binaries successfully but compiled standalone driver of iMON by Venky Raju don't loaded.
