PCH-A100 + buffring to USB memory stick

Hi Guys!

Had my PCH-A100 for a few days now, loving every second of it.

Have one question though, when streaming (over SMB) a high bitrate movie, it takes a few seconds to buffer. Something in between 10-20 seconds, not a problem -- but anyway;

If I have a 4GB USB2 memory stick, and put it into the front of the PCH, will the unit use this memory stick as a buffer-area? And result in faster loading of the movies? And/or, will a HDD impact the buffering time?

No - it will not use a memory stick for buffering

As for playing high bitrate movies over SMB - dont

SMB performance is low - only use SMB for SD content with medium bitrate - or even better dont use it at all.

Use MyIhome HTTP server instead - or NFS if you need to stream from somewhere you cannot acces using MyIhome or if you need to stream DVD-ISO - else allways use MyIhome, much better performance.

What NFS server do you guys use?
MyIhome doesn't work under XP64 - unfortunately.
